About
Star Birds is a relaxing factory building and resource management game where you mine asteroids and create production networks. Level by level, you guide your crew to new star systems, each one coming with its own challenges: frosty cold, scorching heat and … wait, is that an alien tentacle?!
No matter if you're a genre veteran or new to factory builders: the Star Birds are happy to have you by their side. The universe is puzzling, and chaos would ensue very quickly without you.

Scan and claim nearby asteroids to mine resources ranging from ice and metals to rather obscure things. Build production facilities and automate the manufacturing of increasingly advanced goods. Deliver products to your space station to fulfill quests that satisfy the needs of your birds, however odd these might be. Establish transportation routes to create a bustling cosmic production network, advance your technology and ultimately take off to foreign star systems to pursue the mysteries of your galaxy!

360° Base Building
Place buildings on procedurally generated asteroids and build your own little worlds floating in space. Use each asteroid's unique shape and available surface to create the perfect production network. Take the role of a cosmic pioneer and strategically place and connect production facilities with hand-drawn-pipes to optimize your resource flow.
Explore and Experiment
Gather resources and explore different ways to transform and combine them into a variety of goods you're going to need for your mission. Investigate the asteroid's surface, overcome unforeseen obstacles and excavate mysterious artifacts.
Missions and Mysteries
Follow strange traces and lead your crew to uncover a big secret awaiting you in the far reaches of your galaxy. Explore and master the oddities of foreign star systems to conclude this adventurous journey.
Automate and Admire
Establish an ever-growing network of production chains throughout your star system. Improve and optimize, or sit back and watch the satisfying rhythm of your bustling space factory.
Collect and Complete
Fill your collection with all the things you find on your journey! Take on bonus challenges and earn shiny medals for perfecting your setup.
Set out for the stars!
Upgrade your space station and research advanced technologies. Unlock new production paths and increase their efficiency to start your journey into the unknown depths of space and uncover its mysteries!

Star Birds is made by Toukana Interactive, creators of Dorfromantik, and the curiosity sparking animation studio kurzgesagt – in a nutshell. A match made in space, but also in Germany. With each side extending the other a wing, this collaboration has gone from bad puns about fruit to creating a colorful space mining operation that we're proud to send our birds on.
Speaking of: No birds were harmed in the creation of this game, we promise!

The logistics part of the game gets way too annoying to deal with very quickly. Buildings with two inputs are almost unscalable because pipes cannot cross, paired with the tiny planets (and a camera that constantly fights you while you're trying to squeeze as many buildings into as little space as possible) it just makes for a challenge that's much more annoying than it is engaging. Buildings don't seem to show any info as to how much output/input they can have and keeping track of everything on your own through the spaghetti noodle piping that the game requires you to build is near impossible.
quite fun and easy! if you watch the kurzgesagt youtube channel, you should get it because it is made by them
Absolutely lovely game, it definitely gets challenging pretty quickly. This is not your have a drink and relax game, this is a slightly furrowed brow while you perfect your pipe layout and ore mining per meteor so you can maximize your score and "oh wait it's 3 hours later?" game..
It does not sync the save games, I can't play between my handheld and my PC... that's the only reason I'm not playing anymore, it really sucks. Can you please fix it? How annoying
Ehhh, just kinda boring.
Star Birds is a gorgeous game about automization and resource management, It gives you a calm serene feeling throughout, and is less intense than say Factorio. It features witty and cute graphics consistent with the Kurszgesagt style, an engaging and easy going story with dialogues that feels adorably and hilariously appropriate to similar workplace roles in real life. The gameplay and item assembly also has an impressive level of realism to it that makes you feel a little clever when learning the combinations. In this pre-released version there are some occasional hiccups concerning information about what you need to do to progress. However, it is solved gracefully most of the time. I'm also surprised at how much the game seems to heat up my powerful mac. Have to run low settings to not get incredibly hot. Intuitively it seems like the vector graphics could run cheaper. Still no real stutters or issues in game. I really like the game so far, and would love to see it go far.
A little buggy, but overall a great game
i love this game after 1 hour of playing absolute peak
There Is something so satisfying about covering an asteroid in buildings and plants and pipes perfectly to create a higher-tier recipe and squeezing out the last tiny bit of room to fit the final piece of the puzzle. It’s a great blend of the chill vibes of Dorfromantik with the logistical problem-solving of a game like Satisfactory. As a huge fan of both, I’m a huge fan of this!
its a fun factory game
