This is a difficult variant of Klondike solitaire.
Try the free unlimited demo before you buy and see if the game suits you.
All games cannot be won. This game uses full randomness and resembles playing solitaire with physical cards. This is a risky design decision I took early on. Some computer solitaire players will not enjoy this.
56 card deck winnability is approximately 6-10% lower than in regular 52 card Klondike solitaire.
In long term you can expect to win perhaps 10-20% of the games, depending on skill and luck.
There is no easy mode.
Star and Serpent game studio is an independent developer from the backwoods of Finland.

Vampire Survivors.
Abstract
The author loves Klondike Solitaire and has dreamed of improving it since childhood.
Buy it - you won't regret it. This is one of the best quality solitaire games I have played on Steam (and I have played many of them). The premise of the game is a simple solitaire game but it is blended with the mysticism of the Tarot deck. The game has a definite aura that is highlighted in the beautiful music that accompanies each level. There is a store to buy goodies with your earned gold coins. This is run by a fairly unattractive imp. The whole feel of the game is fun, relaxing and also challenging. There are many achievements in place already. I have won the achievement for not double clicking any cards to move them. Some achievements are challenging, some are just a bit of odd fun. I'm waiting to see further developments as I get further into the game. I must beat Death. That's a goal.
10/10 perfect for playing at work
I like this game. It works well on Linux. I'm running Bazzite and have noticed no problems after dozens of games. I played it briefly on the Steam Deck but while it loads and works, the touch screen had difficulties moving the cards. So, hopefully they work on that.
It's Klondike. Just... the greatest love letter to the game that will ever be. The pure craft, care, and precision that went into each and every element of this game is astounding. If you like solitaire, you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't check out the (fully featured) demo. Solitaire is a slow burn and S&SS will reward you along the way.
I've never played solitaire before, so this is from the point of view of a casual new player. To me, the game works exactly like I would expect, and the user experience is completely transparent, ie I never have think about the controls. Since it's a solitaire, I can't really imagine much to improve without breaking the concept. It's incredible hard though, and it took around ten games before I started to realise how much the player can actually affect the way the game goes. Still, didn't win a single game so far 😅 New collectable decks are a fun idea, and I'm happy to see the first one coming. I also like the self-made 1994 vibe with the game, it plays pretty much like something I could have downloaded from a BBS system back in those days. But don't let it deceive modern gamers, underneath I can see the engine is very sleek. And, oh, luckily it tells me when I can stop staring at the cards and that a game is unwinnable :D

[th] Follow my curator page for HONEST reviews [/th]

Rhunen Reviews, short and sweet reviews from your friendly plaguedoctor

the good -progression system (something i've never seen in a solitaire before) -customization -gambling -achievements the bad -ai generated graphics -impasse doesn't get detected sometimes -instant impossible runs are a thing thoughts i got early access to this game through curator connect. but even if im very grateful, that will not influence my score. I've been always a huge fanatic of solitaire games, from spider solitaire to zachtronics solitaire collection, it's the kind of game that can consume my mind for several days at once. This game includes something i have never seen before, which is a progression system! usually when you win a solitaire that's it and at most it counts towards and achievement. in this game every move you do gives you coins, and you can use coins to purchase custom decks and decorate your treasure room ,which is a very nice incentive to keep playing more hands! This game also adds the Page card, which will mess you up, because it goes AKQJ > P > 10 it will certainly take a while to get used to it but once you get the hand it is tolerable. i cannot say this is a good addition to the game as its mostly an inconvenience, but with the setting of the game being tarot cards it makes a lot of sense. Tarot cards are also i always enjoyed too as im known to have done a couple readings before, the design of the cards is the good old Rider tarot, but it would be nice if you can purchase a different set of designs eventually. [EDIT] After an update, they've added the Minchiate tarot art!, excited to see more in the future! Unlocking the store will take a lot of time and it is a bit depressing to see that the shopkeeper is blatantly made with AI and in a very ugly way, i know the char might be intended to be ugly to the eyes but the fact he is made with AI makes it just unlikeable and discounts several points in my view. i hope in a future it can be changed to an artwork made by a human![EDIT] the dev has changed the artwork to one made by a human, which is fantastic! im glad they are putting so much love into this game! This game includes a bunch of accessibility options which is something i really, really appreciate! i've seen changes from double click to send card to foundation, to customisable controls so i can just right click to send a card to foundation, which is a godsend for someone who can't really do many clicks without their hands hurting. I also enjoy that we have the good old card celebration party at the end when you win! i would enjoy more if i could click the cards to make them explode while they are exploding on their own too! final score overall, this is a strong solitaire game, very addicting and rewarding with the progression system. i hope in the future the AI generated artwork can be replaced with real artwork. 8/10 highly recommend it if you like solitaire games! Short version: My original review listed frustrations I had with what felt like a low % of winnable games. Developer's response was exceptionally thoughtful, and now that I understand what to expect, I'm no longer frustrated with the game and will continue to play. More context: I've played A LOT of solitaire variants and seek out difficult ones. For example, I spent what felt like days and days losing the hardest solitaire variant in the Zachtronics solitaire pack before I began winning on a regular basis. So my initial excitement of finally having a hard new challenge turned into frustration after several hours, not due to difficulty or because I was losing, but because of the high number of games that appeared unwinnable from the start. After an extremely thorough and thoughtful reply from the developer, it became clear I was applying some assumptions that just don't fit the game. I love that this developer made some strong, opinionated choices when crafting this game, and I'm going to invest more time now that I know what to expect. I'm looking forward to having a new solitaire to meditatively play before bed, and we'll see how well my win rate improves over a longer period of time. I encourage you to check out the developer's response for more insight into the game.
