i review games on steam after i 100% complete them! check out my reviews to see all the games i have completed! square brawl is a indie party game developed and published by a swedish game company named landfall. they were officially founded in 2015 and square brawl was their first game released on steam. square brawl is pretty clearly a early version of what eventually became stick fight: the game, releasing in 2017 to much more success and popularity. however, this was a clear prototype: only local multiplayer, etc. they eventually made clustertruck in 2016 after square brawl and air brawl, another early game from landfall, were both released in 2015 to steam. clustertruck was a huge hit and that is what made them able to go after something like stick fight after previously only having the resources and capabilities to make something like square brawl. this is a decent game for $5 (and even less on sale, you can routinely find this for 90% off, making this only 50 cents) and normally i'd say buy it on sale, the fact they released a (in my opinion) better version a couple years later makes me recommend skipping this entirely. however, for $5, with frequent 90% off sales, i can't in good faith give this a negative review.

the game is good and simple but a little hard to set up multiplayer

Had hundreds hours of fun playing this with my brother. Still playing every now and then till this day. My favorite landfall game.
