Spring Bonus

Full disclosure: I got this on sale for $1.74 USD, not really expecting much, But I was pleasantly surprised. For a family-friendly title the difficulty does increase, even in casual. And there are points so far where just when it feels like I won't be able to clear a board, the game drops the required baskets, eggs, or what have you. The music is really charming and the cute graphics are easy to see. There are special power ups like hammers, thunderclouds and suns that fit the theme or task nicely. My only complaint is that you can't take every type and use it exactly where needed, so sometimes those lightning strikes and awesome birds flying from nests don't help much. I'd say the whole family would enjoy this game, though some players might get frustrated as the game keeps adding on tasks like melting or breaking ice, cleaning up snow, etc., though that's a pretty standard level progression in any match-3.

Spring Bonus is a old, shallow, simplistic Match-3/ripoff of Bejewelled (copyright Popcap, 2001). The developer has flipped this template a couple of times, reskinning it and trying to sell the same game multiple times with a different theme (Holiday Bonus, Spooky Bonus etc). Reskinning the same core game asset and pretending it's a new game fits squarely into the "asset flip" classification as this is a pure cash grab. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but I wasn't able to find it on the app stores. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes this is a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Spring Bonus has a laughable, eye watering cash grab price of around $7.50 USD (for a garbage game that doesn't even have widescreen support!), for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games, let alone the sheer number of free games available on Steam. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.

Bunny theme is bright and positive, process feels easy going like punching non-stop a bubble wrap. What`s the point in score if it`s nowhere used at all is a big mystery of this gamash.

A dead simple Match 3 with some extra stuff like column and row clearing special blocks, area clear, and an optional timed mode. Family friendly despite the review above mine showing a big ol' ass. Sometimes, less is more.
