Santa's Holiday

[i]Santa's Holiday[/i] is a decent run-of-the-mill match 3 game spanning 100 levels. Its major downside is that although in theory the game's difficulty increases with each level, it actually gets easier. And of course its Christmas setting may mean people consider it a seasonal game or they would never consider playing it. [h1]Story[/h1] Santa is tired and went on a holiday. So you have to help the elves get everything in order for Christmas… by solving match 3 puzzles. You weren't really looking for an in-depth story in a match 3 game, were you? [h1]Gameplay[/h1] Typical match 3 gameplay. You have to drag one item to an adjacent spot to swap it with the item in that spot so as to create a row of 3 of the same items. Matching 4 or 5 of the same items rewards you with bonus items, for instance a bomb that destroys the items around it. The items are Christmas-themed: Santa's face, Christmas trees, red stockings, sugar canes, and so on. You have a limited amount of moves to clear each level. As the levels progress, you'll encounter additional challenges. For example, you'll see some crates that can only be destroyed by matching 3 or more items right next to them. And you'll see locked items that can only be unlocked by matching 3 or more items right next to them. The game offers 4 helpful items that you can buy to help finish a level. These items destroy an item, destroy an obstacle, reshuffle all the items on the board or remove all the items of one type. By completing levels you get gold. Gold can be used to buy items from the elves to decorate your personal room. Each item you buy immediately adds crystals to your wallet. It's clear the game used to be a mobile game where you could spend real money to buy additional cystals. For the Steam version, the in-app purchases have been removed. But when you run out of moves, the game asks you if you want to spend 20 crystals to buy 5 extra moves to continue trying to beat the level. All of the four helpful items I mentioned earlier are also exclusively bought by spending crystals. This has a strange effect on the difficulty curve of the game. The levels get progressively more difficult but the amount of moves you're allowed also increases, so that pretty much balances each other out. During the first few dozens of levels you'll find you have to either spend what little crystals you have or choose the better option and restart the level, especially if you don't have any crystals left. But when you get to the higher levels, you'll have so many crystals you can buy all the helpful items you want and even buy 5 extra moves if you're very close to completing the level. So the difficulty actually decreases as the game progresses. [h1]Graphics and sound[/h1] The graphics are as one would expect from a match 3 game. They're colourful and vibrant. The music deserves a special mention. There are three (or was it four?) pieces of music that alternate while you play the game. These are very basic and of course Christmassy, but I heard them playing in my head hours or days after I played the game. So to my own disbelief, the songs are definitely catchy. [h1]On Steam's extra features[/h1] [i]Santa's Holiday[/i] has no Steam trading cards and no achievements.

Вот когда хочется во что-то поиграть, но чёт впадлу во что-то играть, вот тогда эта игра прям находка. Правда брать её лучше по скидке больше 50%. Ибо шот дораха бохато фулл прайс вот за это вот отдавать.

IF this is your first game and you are confused: [u]Pickaxe[/u] is for smashing one randomly selected tile. Does [b]not[/b] work on obstructions. [u]Hammer[/u]: Works on any (one) obstruction. [u]Snowman[/u]: Will shuffle all but obstacles/gifts/keys. [u]Falling Star[/u]: Pick a token and it'll destroy ALL the tokes of the same type. Alright... Despite this game having "gems" that are needed to purchase the Power Ups? It's actually not bad. It's colorful, X-Massy themed and every room decoration/toy you unlock -> You can move 'em around as you like. Gems come from purchasing the decorations/toys (with in game gold coins) and the way levels are designed... You don't have to heavily rely on those Power Ups that much. *Phew* My only... Eh... "Issue"... Was when this bug kept occurring: two tokens you can swap on the board fused together. Yep. So like if you have a ball and a tree? Now it's a ball AND a tree in ONE SPOT... And whatever you do... You can't match them. Unless...! You manage to "grasp" the right token and *maybe* it'll match with another two like it. However, it wont go away and you will have to play with it the entire time. Yeah... There is another bug with an "infinite" dynamite... But that one I ain't complaining about lol. Okay. Cute. Doesn't have annoying af, poorly designed levels with bad obstacles, and I actually wanted to play it. Some *other* Match-3s could take pointers from this one. You know the one. Good job.

Green Sauce Games does it again! They are on my auto-purchase list, and Santa's Holiday doesn't disappoint! It has the Match 3 benefits that you've come to know and love - powerups, obstacles, story, and building. The game rewards you with decorating a room using the coins accumulated EXCEPT that you can position the decorations anywhere in the room that you prefer (with some exceptions). That's new. Beautiful tiles and graphics, festive music, interesting puzzles ... this is definitely a fun holiday Match 3 game.

Very nice game. The only negative is that the blue background color on most tiles is too bright, making it harder to see matches. Regarding another user's review, it didn't get stuck after the 3rd level for me. No bugs so far at all.

Love this game! I really appreciate the untimed mode, because being timed stresses me out, and I just want to relax and play. I love match 3 games and wanted something festive for the holiday, and this 100% delivers! I will be ordering other games from this studio.

Not much to say about this game. Santa's Holiday is a normal Match-3 game. Not very difficult. Played it on timed and only a few level my time was running out.Extras weren't used by me. A few times there was an bug with overlapping items on the same tile. A little confusing but not serious. I bought it for a little over € 2 on sale. Full price = not worth it!! Reduced price = recommended!!!

Macht Spaß, wird aber mit steigenden Level schwieriger, es kann durchaus passieren das man einen RUN nochmal starten muss weil die Züge ausgehen, nicht schlimm, man fängt den Level halt neu an, kann auch mehrmals vorkommen, es kann durchaus auch nervig werden 😄 Man erspielt sich Goldmünzen in den Levels wo man kleine Quest absolviert und dafür bekommt man Münzen und muss damit dann das eigene Wohnzimmer weihnachtlich gestalten, was recht kostspielig ist denn die erkauften Extras die haben so ihre stolzen Preise jenseits das was ihr in einem Level erwirtschaften könnt, da muss man manchmal schon ein paar Levels meistern bevor man einen neuen Gegenstand kaufen kann. Es kann wie gesagt auch mal echt nervig werden wenn man den Level mehrmals neustarten darf. Es ist aber alles lösbar. Ich empfehle das Spiel durchaus weiter, hab es im Sale für gerade mal 1,95 € ergattert, meinerseits gibt es da überhaupt nichts zu beanstanden. In diesem Sinne Merry X-MAS 🎅🎄🎁
