The game is pretty simpule, mix colors till you get brown, when its brown it causes an explosion, with that explosionyou have to blow up some rainbowball. It has quite some variation with special tiles and colors, but after the tutorial you've had most variation and all the levels look a lot like each other with too little of a challenge to really enjoy it. The worst thing about the game was imho the awful sound and visual effects. The game is recommendable for kids below the age of 10.
I love how this game starts out with the typical "annoyingly easy" levels as most games do and then it just down right expects that you passed 1st grade with what colors mixed with what create what new colors xD Also, my only true complaint thus far (at level 11-12) is that there are no achievements for this game. With how little time the game gives you to get the time based star on each level I personally think a "Complete every level in the game with 3 stars" is in order :D
It was fun for a short period of time but then just got boring and annoying, mostly because it is obviously intended for touch inputs so the mouse behavior can be erratic. I'd probably recommend it on my tablet if I were playing a few levels here and there to kill some time while traveling but not as a PC game that you'd make a specific effort to play.
Highly polished puzzle experience, very charming and great music
The timer doesn't go well with a game like this in my opinion, overall i was bored after 9 levels (not bored, just i didn't want to make the effort)
A delightful difficulty curve and surprisingly refreshing puzzler.
Very nice time killer game. I'm at the airport and killed 2 hours with this basic game. Can't complain because it's apart of the Jingle Jam 2018 humble bundle and it's worth the $10, however, I wouldn't pay any more.
Splotches is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as a lazy, cheap cash grab by mobile devs. It's an iOS ported puzzle game where you drag different coloured paint blobs together to create the colour brown, which explodes because the developers don't really understand that colours aren't explosives. Create the colour brown next to a target (which means careful pathing for the colours that you mix) to solve the puzzle. While this is a reasonably well polished puzzle game, the fact remains this is a 2D mobile puzzle game on Steam and really doesn't belong here on PC. These kinds of games are more suited to flash/browser/mobile. The developers seem to think PC gamers want to pay $10 USD for their $1 mobile app shovelware, I disagree. Where do they get off thinking we should pay TEN TIMES more than mobile peasants for a mobile app on Steam???
It's a good concept, but the execution feels quite flat. Some levels are puzzlingly good, but some are annoyingly long, the lack of new pieces in later levels gets repetitive, and many levels are full of either red herrings or unintended solutions (I can't determine which). And asking for 'less than 2' explosions instead of 'max 1' just looks weird.
