Game on startup crashes my VR? I dont want to refund yet because I want to give the game a shot after fixing the issue but ive tried a ton of different ways to boot the game and the VR link and it all seems to fail. I primarily use the airLink, and the game is unplayable (literally). Obviously not gonna ♥♥♥♥ on the Dev but, cmon man.
Split Second VR has a lot of potential, but it needs refinement in its core mechanics. Weapon handling doesn't feel smooth or very interactive compared to other VR shooters (or even some VR mods). Weapons feel a bit airy, and magazine interaction is awkward and unreliable, it often takes a couple of tries just to grab the mag from the gun. Because of this, reloading feels choppy instead of fluid and satisfying. The UI also needs some work. There isn't a proper settings menu instead, settings are placed inside the starting map itself, which is annoying to deal with. While there is a large amount of playable content, some of it feels unfinished in terms of environmental detail and immersion. I'm not expecting really realistic graphics in its early stage, but in tactical SWAT games, small details in the environment matter. For example games like Ready or Not make you feel immersed with the situation, whereas Split Second sometimes lacks that level of detail and atmosphere which hurts the immersion. That said, the foundation for a great game is there. The game is in early access and the developer is actively improving it, which is why I'm recommending it. I believe with more polish to weapon handling and interaction, the UI, and environmental detail, this could become a high quality VR tactical shooter that I could easily recommend to anyone without hesitation.

just do not buy it not real at all
I see all these negative reviews and it pains my heart, this game has been in development for years now and the progress made by the developer is genuinely insane. It's REALLY solid if you understand that you're gonna go in with some jank and issues(a given since it's one developer on this game and you can't iron out every single issue in one update.) But this game has a dedicated developer that's been improving on basically every single aspect since it's original quest 2 build and i feel like people don't see the amount of dedication put into making this a great VR tactical shooter. It's rough, don't get me wrong, but if you go in expecting a flawless experience then idk what to tell you. I see a dedicated developer and it was surreal when i came back to split second and saw it had a pc version out that was COMPLETELY overhauled from the quest 2 build and it makes me believe that this developer has the passion to turn this into a really REALLY good game. TLDR: Passionate Developer, Janky Game, Needs time, don't go in expecting perfection.
Its a really fun game very tactical highly recommend
The next peak vr shooter
