I got all of the achievements in this a while ago and it's just....not good. It's quite bland and there are many other VS-likes or Arena Survivors that are simply better. This game especially lacks information that will leave you wondering how weapons interact with stats and even why you're surviving as long as you are. The menu is a god awful mess, especially the summoning menu that is just word vomit that doesn't get the point across. The visuals are nice, and I liked the premise behind the game but that's sort of it. I feel bad being rude but the dev has abandon this project, mostly used the steam news function to post about bundles, talked about completely changing the game into a totally different style, and just now posted (more than a year later) a teaser for the next update that makes the game look even further from what I originally bought. Games change in early access, I know that, but it feels like the dev just wants to make a completely different game. Although the game is cheap I still can't recommend it as there are far better alternatives in the same genre and thanks to the dev you aren't even sure of what you're buying with how much they want to change
This game had good foundations, but sadly, it's incomplete and has been abandoned by the developer. Do not buy.

Game is no longer receiving updates, and there are still several sections in the UI with "content coming soon" placeholders, for example the later stages. There's a decent amount of content in the game already, but it's hard to ignore that the game is abandoned when there are empty buttons and options everywhere.
Dev spends more time arguing on forums then it does finishing a game. Hopefully it's kid is not in their custody because I can't imagine what a deadbeat bum ass Dad Xendra is. Also can never recommend ABANDONED games
Originally posted by Xendra: I would currently rate spellbook demonslayers as a bad game with some interesting ideas. dev like to talk bad about his customers and insult them on forums. he is remaking the game and claims his behavior will never affect his sales.
This was a solid game shortly after it came out. But, the last update the developer made was over two years ago at the time of writing, and they left the game in a much worse state than it used to be. This is a dead game, unfortunately.
forsaken game from irresponsible dev, avoid him at all costs, it had potential, but as most of his proyects, abandonware.
I rarely write negative reviews. In last few years I met and befriended with alot of nice Devs who care on community and shaping the games based on feedbacks. Sadly Xendra the Developer of Spellbook Demonslayers is the opposite, a bad example. An ignorant Dev who lack of good communication, offending and snarky on forums. Also made alot of confusion with his ever changing vision about the game and versions. He dont finished his product the way it should, the game as we bought, a survivor bullet heaven horde survival. Instead abandoned it for like two years then now show up with total new way of gameplay, turning the game to a different genre. While he atleast made available the old version in Beta branch, but that is basicaly an unfinished Early Acces game what remain that forever. Avoid this game and esspecialy this Developer, dont deserve your money, time and support. There is dozens of other very nice Devs with realy good games in the genre whom you can support. Not Recommended.
Abandoned and unfinished game. Fun to mess around with, but it's not going to be completed any more.
I'll be real, finding out this game got abandoned because the developer got too horny was not on my bingo card. And the...alternative version also was abandoned. Why? The game itself was sick but it's now in a worse state and abandoned. Really disappointed because this game had potential to be one of my favorite survivorlikes.
