About
Welcome to SPEAR—because fixing the game you’re playing wasn’t exactly on your bucket list, was it?
Imagine your heroic protagonist just got wiped out by a "fatal error". Yeah, typical Monday stuff. And now, some random background NPC named Default, who's literally just armed with a glorified stick, has to save the entire digital world. No pressure then, right? Dive into this glitch-ridden, action-packed platformer, full of quirky mechanics, broken quests, and secrets that should probably stay buried in corrupted code. Remember, heroes are overrated anyway.
There are potions you're definitely not supposed to drink. So obviously, you'll chug them right away, and items that'll turn you into... something. Maybe you'll fly, maybe you'll explode, maybe you'll just regret everything immediately. Welcome to inventory roulette!
Sure, spears are traditionally for poking holes in things. But this isn't any old spear, it's an overachiever. Use it to impale annoying bugs, call it back with your mind, slow down time, get across impossible gaps, and even transform it into a platform. It's the Swiss Army knife of sticks.
The player's dead, and the NPCs have absolutely nothing better to do than moan about their broken quests. Guess whose job it is to fix that mess? Hint: it's yours. Time to play therapist for a bunch of depressed NPCs who didn't even bother to learn your name.
Explore an increasingly bizarre world, unlocking new levels, hidden secrets, and delightful surprises behind every corrupted pixel. It’s thrilling, like stepping on digital Lego and shouting profanity.
The game's so gloriously broken that the difficulty spikes whenever it feels like it. Just when you think you’re safe, bugs mutate into explosive, rage-filled nightmares. And here's the kicker: the stronger you get, the angrier the bugs become. Going back to earlier levels? Oh, you'll wish you hadn't. It’s a beautiful cycle of violence and regret.

Original and yet classic platformer with indie vibes. I really enjoy the crazy recoil jumps, resulting in a simple but yet challenging game. Nice!
Cute little indie platform game, the titular spear used by the player character is really fun in that, when thrown, it gives you momentum in the opposite direction, allowing for some nice traversal tricks. The game is really all about fast paced platforming with lots of precisesly timed jumps and spear throws used to activate doors/platforms. On the other hand, combat is as simple as just hitting the enemies once with the spear, as a matter of fact enemy encounters are treated more as of an obstacle during your platforming so dont expect any kind of action/combat oriented game here. I really liked the world design with the whole fourth wall break and meta angle to it, I thought it made the game stand out from the plethora of similar indie platform games. My only complaint is that the camera can be kind of junky sometimes when following the player character, and the abundance of trial and error style challenges, only somewhat alleviated by the frequent checkpoints, made the game frustratring at times. But, all in all I can safely recommend this game to anyone that likes challenging platformers with fluid and inventive mechanics, it was a fun time.
Gorgeous gameplay! The little guy feels incredible to control. I still haven't finished the main story, I got sidetracked by quests and bonus levels. It’s packed with quirky features that make it stand out from typical platformers. It’s a hybrid between a platformer and a Metroidvania. Hard to define, but really fun and challenging. I’m already looking forward to a sequel.
Frustrante. Sarà croce e delizia per ogni videogiocatore. Consigliatissimo
This is gold. Almost finished it. Graphic is good, but the gameplay is incredible. Loved the shop inside a huge luggage. Very addictive!!
I haven't played through the whole game yet, but from what I have played the game has left me wanting to pick it straight back up after closing. You can feel the love that was put into it. It is still slightly rough around the edges but overall a super fun game. There is some difficult sections but nothing you can't overcome. A truly wonderful game that I can't wait to play more of.
Clever games curator review: 7/10 On the precision platformer / puzzle platformer spectrum, this is muuuch closer to a precision platformer, but you definitely have to think occasionally. For me, it's too frustrating, but most moderately agile people should be fine. The world building / writing / dialog is top notch, especially by indie standards. Levels are fairly open with multiple paths that lead to various collectables, some of which are mandatory to proceed. It could use with a bit of play testing, as some of the events are overly finicky to trigger/bugged out, but on the whole it's a well-done game that looks good and plays well. If there were ONE thing I'd change, it would be offering a mode where instead of insta-death it gave you some number of hearts to lose first. It would really improve accessibility for the rest of us.
Spear genuinely surprised me. I didn’t expect a game like this to draw me in so deeply, and yet I found myself completely immersed in its world, smiling and feeling that rare sense of playing something with real soul. It’s one of those games where you say “just five more minutes,” and suddenly hours have gone by. What struck me most was how it manages to be both light-hearted and clever, how it playfully teases you while making you care about every little choice and detail. I laughed, I was surprised, and more than once I thought, “that’s such a brilliant idea.” It’s hard to explain exactly what makes Spear so special without spoiling it, but there’s something unique in the way it guides you, surprises you, and makes you feel part of something truly out of the ordinary. It’s not just a well-made game—it’s an experience built with heart, and you can feel it. One of those titles that stays with you.
Gioco assurdo. Le abilità che sblocchi con la lancia sono bellissime. Sono bloccata al quinto livello, quello coi teletrasporti, ma voglio finirlo al 100% Forse sono leggermente troppo difficili i livelli bonus
I played SPEAR as a Beta tester and I have to admit that it was a great surprise! I had the pleasure of seeing the game evolve and polish into the satisfying experience it is today. Overall, It is a standout indie title which is able to combine a great gameplay with engaging mechanics. From the moment you start, although you are immediately thrown into the Spears' world, it is quite easy to learn the mechanics of the game, as you have good tutorials throughout the various levels. The atmosphere is minimalist but striking, with music and sound effects that subtly build tension without being overwhelmed. The world feels quite mysterious and a bit desolate, which naturally allows space for curiosity and personal interpretation. In conclusion, if you appreciate a subtle, environmental storytelling, which aligns with the "show, don't tell" approach, Spear is a rewarding experience!
