Played this in the early stages and was amazed at the amount of content. Definitely holds true for this version as well. Controls well, weapons are varied with a myriad of potential strategies. Incredibly creative, and while it isn't perfect (notably, the utility of I-Frames appeared to be slightly inconsistent), it has a lot of charm. I can't wait to see where this game/developer goes next!
Cool little arcade game where you defend a simple 2 floor base, the arsenal is incredibly varied and the enemies are also great. It also suprisingly registers GC controllers, tho the game unfortunately has a few issues: Railguns charge shot sometimes doesnt register at all and Sentries crash the game when fighting the giant pink blob boss. Outside of that however an absolute hidden gem. As of 1.2. the sentry crash is fixed, tho the railgun is unfortunately still bugged, the new music is very nice tho, heres to hoping we will get the randomiser unique green handgun in normal modes :3
pros: this game is fun and feels really good to play. the music and sound effects are really good. i also like the "flow" of this game. the average time of 5-10 minutes per round is just right, and the controls and static camera command just the right amount of attention that you can lock in and intensely play the game while still having a conversation with someone else, if that's something that you like to do. it's also a great couch co-op game that plays similar to duck game. some notes before you buy: this game gets really difficult (especially if you're playing alone), and it can be easy to miss some important details that would help you win. I'll spoiler them if you want to discover everything through the game but stuff like
strafing, crouching to drop grenades closer to you, using grenades on flying enemies to gain shield, etc.
are told to you by the game but are all incredibly important to beating classic mode solo imo. I completed classic mode after ~10 hours using the rifle and grenade, which I think are the "vanilla" weapons to beat the game. if you played the demo and thought it was too easy, i promise the later waves are way more difficult. also, HIGHLY recommend playing on controller. The other game modes are fun as well! overall, a positive experience, and it was super rewarding to finally beat the game! super replayable too! very excited to see future games from trashmonger :)
