good old space adventure game
It would be very rare I would 'Not Recommend' a game to others. I'd just stay silent. I really, REALLY wanted to like this game. I loved the Space Quest series. And this game has the spirit of Space Quest... just. But it is SO rife with bugs, missing dialogue, and confusion in the story. For example, on multiple occassions characters act like they know each other when they've never met. Or you get a new quest, to go somewhere, but the dialogue that introduces the quest doesn't play. Why am I going to X? No idea. Reload the game and the dialogue plays this time. It'd be okay if that happened occassionally, but its pretty consistent. Don't even get me on the immobilization bugs or when the animation for a story-progress action just doesn't play and you need to reload. How this game had seven-odd playtesters and still shipped like this is beyond me.
Very good but I think there are some opportunities for the game to give the player more hints on what to do or aquire next.
I grew up with the Space Quest series. It is dear to my heart, I heard of this game being made years ago on Kickstarter. I did not back it. I heard it was not being made. A few days ago I saw it on Steam much to my surprise, then I bought it after checking reviews. After having played through it I would only lightly recommend it. The game is an honest spiritual successor to the adventures of Roger Wilco. At times it is funny and has the same humor of the original series. The main issue is that it is clunky and it is buggy. Most of the game is playable and there are some fun little things that are challenging, however it is clunky. It could use some polishing. I got tired of it 3/4 through. Some of the puzzles were hard simply because I had to find something on screen that I did not notice.
Often times items were readily available with no thought, you just had to see them.

Later on in the game you get a ship which only leaves after fulfilling certain objectives. You can't run around the galaxy. I am not sure if that is a glitch or not.
Definitely worth getting on sale. If you love the original series, it is maybe worth getting.
Honestly . i love the Two Guys from Andromeda , but after the umpteenth game breaking bug , the pointless action scenes such as the flying ( that can be skipped because they are useless) , the endless failures in virtual physics such as fixing the watersupply . and now i am stuck because i installed the pipe on tatoorakis before i should have or something. It s wonderful , but this is so broken it is not fun and the point n click bits are interrrupted by not fun pointless click bits. seriously this took you 9 years. dedication . but i m sorry . i really want you to carry on , but this is after struggling so many times with illogical nonsense from the start. ( and yes of course i completed all the spacequests back in the day , but the action segments are just not your forte. please make a 2d gorgeous adventure that this could be. sorry. bugs are worse than dying. i will try again later, for now , i will leave my replaying seven hours of the game to someone who doesnt has enough time on their hands and i recommend spacequest 1-6 first.. fiinished it , minigames are very buggy, just support them , but be prepared for a messy game 6/10
Sneaking in for a largely unnoticed Christmas 2025 release, this long-awaited adventure game from the Two Guys From Andromeda was so long-awaited it includes voicework from the late Gary Owens. Suffer through baffling adventure game logic and pixel hunts from the dawn of the medium and UI design so innovative it defies innovation, in order to enjoy a payoff of occasionally fantastic content and great gags. Guys, it's not great, after ten minutes of fruitless clicking I needed to hit up the walkthrough to understand I need to place a robot dog on a shelf, and that's as unintuitive as can be. But I just can't hate a game with this much hyperprotobiomaticplasmasynergism in it. Go in with the right expectations, and SpaceVenture is 100% worth a play, I'm glad to see it made it across the finish line.
I want to like this game, I really do. I love the original SQ games and have a huge soft spot in my heart for the Two Guys. Unfortunately, this game (even today after all the bug fixes) is a buggy mess that is inferior to pretty much every SQ game out there. I've lost progress so many times due to the engine glitching and soft-locking me, and the game isn't even long, it takes like 4 hours to beat if it doesn't glitch and lose 30 minutes of your progress. There's no auto save and the actual save mechanic is clunky and sometimes when you load, things have changed from when you saved. I mean, I guess it was only $15, but like, I still feel like it's overpriced?
the story is good, it's funny, great characters... but i still can't recommend it. the puzzles are clever, but the mechanics of the game are not intuitive. this makes it very difficult to finish some of them without a specific walkthrough on what to do, or where to click... plus, this game has been out for years, and there is no cloud saving ability. and there are several game-breaking bugs that make it too frustrating to play. i couldn't even finish the game because of this. very disappointed. UPDATE: bugs fixed by developer!
