Space Wars: Interstellar Empires is a turn-based tactical strategy game where you side with a powerful galactic faction, each with its own fleet and play style, and gain access to hundreds of distinct space crafts. Choose a starting ship and set off on a sprawling map filled with distinct locales, tactical advantage points and enemy worlds. Conquer galactic territories through combat, complete missions, and use the experience gained to upgrade your crew and ship or acquire more spacecraft. Fight alongside your faction to claim every system in the galaxy, one planet at a time. Work with allies to forge new friendships and clans, or go rogue and discover worlds on your own. Either path will lead to tense battles for enemy space … or to defend your own. Once an invading force conquers a region, that faction’s map is updated to include the area. Each race must take the war to their enemies and overpower other species to win total control of the universe.

"Space Wars: Interstellar Empires" was an attempt to make a cash shop infested mobile app, but they accidentally dumped it on Steam instead, then abandoned it. Does Steam look like a rubbish dump to amateur developers? A place to dispose of unfinished games? This most certainly is polluting Steam, making it harder for gamers to find completed games from ethical developers who did the right thing. Anyway while this looks like a typical space 4X strategy game like Master of Orion or Stellaris, it's not. It's just a cash grab that failed. A thin veneer over a nasty, predatory mobile app style cash shop. The developers abandoned this 2 years and 1 month ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. This has some really mediocre looking graphics that will understandably be a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarly visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. On pricing and value for gamers, this isn't really free as the game is infested with mobile app store like microtransactions. This is a consumer hostile model that we don't need to see on PC. It's deceptively priced to gouge gamers, and that's a reason in itself to avoid this. It's important to note that, despite this being such a low quality product, there's a number of positive reviews that all appeared immediately after the game launched, from suspiciously inactive Steam accounts that have reviewed almost no other games apart from this. On a purely unrelated note, recent US FTC rulings mean that review manipulation and fake reviews are now federal crimes. Interesting, isn't it? Regardless... take the review score of this game with a grain of salt. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel almost as ripped off as anyone who got scammed into spending money on this mobile-app-in-exile.
Developer Response!
The developer has weighed in to inform everyone they didn't read the Developer Usage Rules for Steam "partners", or they deliberately ignored the part where Valve says:
Though it may be tempting, not every review needs to be responded to. A developer response will frequently draw more attention than the original statement, potentially turning a small issue into a much larger community discussion. It's also not a good idea to use this feature to refute customer opinions. Your direct attention can be seen as validation or a defensive attempt to silence your customers.
There's a lot to unpack here, and none of it good. But remember the backdrop here... this "game" has only about 2-3 players at any given time, it's an utter, abject failure, and the developers toxic response here sheds more light on how such garbage and such failure ended up on Steam. But, it excuses none of it. The first thing the developer wants everyone to know is that they are "The Main Character". You, as a gamer, don't matter. They breach Valve guidelines for developers just to complain about a fully accurate and informative review (with facts their ego doesn't like). It's evident from their attitude that they never created this product with gamers in mind. They did so to stroke their own ego. When developers, especially failed ones who would never be able to get a professional job in the industry, put themselves before gamers, we end up with garbage products like this. That explains how this trash ended up on Steam, but it doesn't excuse it. At least we finally got to meet THE MAIN CHARACTER. Indeed, the developer boasts spending 500,000 hours developing this dumpster fire as a solo dev. Which is 57 years, one month, and 5 days. So we can presume one of two things: 1. The developer began developing this game on an IBM System/360 Mainframe in 1969. 2. The developer is full of crap. Gamers, you be the judge on that one, but I have my own suspicions about which of those answers is right. For us gamers, for whom games are made (the developer seems to have forgotten that), it doesn't matter if GTA:V was made by one guy in a shed over the space of a weekend and Depression Quest took 1000 staff working for 5 years to make, what matters is the resultant quality of the product. You can see the intellectual dishonesty of the developer made apparent from their comments. The developer whines about his failure to profit from his unethical pricing and abuse of Valve's disastrous (if well-intentioned) Early Access programme. And yes, the developer is deliberately abusing Early Access. This game entered Early Access over SEVEN years ago and in that time not only did the developer fail to meet their commitment to finish the game by 2018, they offered no refunds, keeping all money taken from gamers, and instead ABANDONED the game to work on other titles. There's simply no excuse for this; the evidence here points to a developer that acted in bad faith with a direct intention to profit from this illicit activity. The developer tries to tell us it costs $1200/month to pay for services for a game that has 6-7 people playing at most. As an AWS certified solution architect, I can assure you this is either gross incompetence, or, once more, the developer is full of crap. You could satisfy the back-end demand for a tiny player base like this with a t3.micro for 1c/hour. That's a fact. Again, you be the judge. The developer seriously claims to have spent $1.5M on this garbage. Derek Smart made better games on a fraction of the budget. Derek Smart. I won't say his name a third time. This claim is almost certainly bogus, and carries the implication there's some kind of tax dodge or something else suspicious going on. Of course, we can pin this back to more gross incompetence. Likewise, with almost no players, it seems highly unlikely that both players are paying this guy $90/month each for an abandoned Early Access mobile app cash shop. None of the numbers here add up, and the only facts we have are that this is a dead game, and that the developer abused Steam Early Access, without refunding a cent to the gamers that have been suckered. Judge this on the facts. Nothing in the developers pointless breach of Valve guidelines changes any of the objective facts of my review. My review stands unaltered. I cannot recommend this failure to anyone.

战舰皮肤还行,世界观设定还行,玩法也还行。就是没人,比较无聊,刷npc特别枯燥。建议体验一把后就没必要玩下去,

quite the fun game, nothing like it. mostly PVE and with recent improvements to the ai PVE is more fun and AI can take sectors on their own now. for your first server id suggest going sol, go genari if you want a soft challenge as they have barely any shields but high health and high close range DPS. once you go through your first server, if you feel comfortable with the game enough try out ma'al and hive. pirates' are by far the hardest and are only a small faction unlike the main 4. the community is nice and welcoming willing to help you learn even if you are on one of the other faction's. all play on the main server but if you want to practice there is a new player server with just sol and genari
Hex based mmo tactical space combat. lots of ships to pic from. you control one and lv up as you attack and defend against npc and other players. small but friendly community. i would love to see this game thrive but i think its a bit time taxing for the average gamer. still fun to log in and see whats new!
Good game. Needs some work but, good game.
