I bought this game as a joke (although originally thought there might be something worthwhile) - graphics are oversized and designed for mainly a enormous 37 inch flat screen, i'll assume that when the game is full screened to 4k HD resolution, the entire game won't look like some kiddy's playtoy getting shoved into a game! - options & game options etc aren't available at the first screen, instead you need to start a game to access the proper menu system (most likely the developer has little or no understanding of game design & layout) beware that due to the second point mentioned, the game will blare out the atrocious soundtrack that can't be turned off until you get into a saved game etc, make sure you do not have your sound system turned on or up high!
Space Trade Fleet 1.5 is an unusual entry on Steam. It's a strange hybrid business tycoon space trader/"tower defense" game. Spend your money planning on buying ship hulls and fitting them out with armour, weapons, generators, engines and so on, then embark on a wave survival/tower defense as your ships blast waves of attacking enemies while you move from planet to planet. Great concept for a game, it's a compelling idea, the problem is in the implementation. Locked resolution, web browser/Flash tier interface, and MS-Paint graphics make this look like something from 1990, not 2019. If the implementation was better, and there was a tutorial, this might even be a "maybe" simply because of the strong concept. Unfortunately, games don't exist in a vacuum. The $5 USD price tag here is more expensive than games like X3, and almost the same price as Elite: Dangerous when that's on sale. And those games let you do space trading as well as having expansive universes, dogfighting, and huge depth and scale. Kudos to the developers for a great concept, it's a shame about the low quality implementation.

Grows tedious quickly. I deeply enjoy resource management games, and roll my eyes when I see reviews complaining about how tedious the games become. This time, they were correct. It's not completely bad, there's just not enough to do, and too much of the same grind. It kicks in around the 3rd planet, and that's just the first half of the first half of the game. I used cheats to get through, just so I could feel like I didn't completely waste my money.
There are a lot more refined spacer RPGs out there if you want to scratch your space trader itch.
