«Space Probes»
Sci-Fi Scrolling shooter / Shoot ’em up
Very challenging side-scrolling space shooter. Cool soundtrack, many boss fights and many flashing explosions. Works best with controller.
+1 Arcade
ADDICTING AND FUN! ARCADE NOSTALGIA FEELING!
A challenging bullet hell shmup with great music. The dev is helpful and updates the game very frequently.
Very Good & challenging BULLET HELL Side scrolling Shoot Em Up. Great Graphics & Visual Effects, Love the Trippy/Psychedelic space backgrounds. The game mainly consists of BOSS fights and lots of Enemies to vaporise into oblivion. Lots of cool stages, Amazing music. Their is a Shop available with a variety of Powerful Weapons+Speed Ups+Shields and Awesome Probes, which you can buy from collecting money from destroying the enemy forces. Great smooth controls and not encountered any bugs so far. Excellent value for money. If you love High Octane & addictive shoot em ups. This games for you=LOVE IT!!! BUY THIS GAME...Itz A Mega Blast....Both Thumbs UP!!! :) SHOOT EM UPS 4 LIFE!!!
Space Probes is a console ported asset flipped R-Type ripoff, an side scrolling retro 2D arcade bullet hell shoot 'em up. It's an old, largely dead format and the implementation here is, I guess passable, if derivative. The game attempts to impress by throwing 2D stock assets (from the Space Shooter Kit: Side Scrolling asset pack from actual developers, pzUH), combined with a bunch of "free" soundtrack tunes from the internet and a bit of procgen combined with some bullet hell template... at least it's not a straight 1:1 asset flip and they tried to use someone else's art, game engine and music to make their own game out of it. The game doesn't feature any graphics tweaks or resolution controls, so there's no guarantee that you can make this look right or run at native resolution on any given gaming PC, which is not okay. Controls can be customised but it seems the developer intends for this to be played exclusively with a console peasant children's toy gamepad, and that's not okay either. The game features procgen algorithms instead of custom built content, to save the effort of having to do the job of a game designer and design levels and progression into the game. It's free, which is nice, and really, the only acceptable way to publish someone else's work on Steam, but given the main objective for this game is to compete with Spotify, which you can also listen to for free but has better music, I can't recommend this. This isn't a terrible asset flipped shmup, but it's not brilliant, either. If you want a good, non-asset flipped bullet hell, try Sine Mora.
An old school styled arcade bullet hell side scroll shooter... seemed to be made by ready made assets lying around the internet... seemed to me that most indies started their 1st game this way. At least this one doesn't have much flawed in it and nothing is senseless about it unlike some other asset-flip games. Plus it's free, so they are not here to scam people, just trying out their skills on making games with ready assets... imho... this is a pretty good starting point... if they can actually do some original graphic drawings it would even be better. For those come looking for a good time waster, this really ain't bad. Just don't expect anything original...
