I can honestly recommend this game just for the aesthetic but good god is it hard. Level 2 defeated me, hopefully I will come back and somehow have gotten better at this game.
This game is a vast improvement on the original game. The original became bland really quickly while this one adds a bullet cancelling mechanic and therefore more dense patterns too while keeping the soul drain mechanic from the original. Survival and scoring are more interesting and fun now. It also seems like the last second kill bonus for bosses was removed which I strongly prefer. My only really big issue is that there are a few bullet sprites that are way too tiny.

I mainly like to play Schmups on my home arcades simply due to the fact I enjoy the arcade-style controller better than an Xbox controller. This is purely my preference, and an Xbox controller would work perfectly with the game. That being said, I was able to really sit down after I had put the latest cab together and dropped a solid 4-hour session on Space Moth LE. Overall, the gameplay is fantastic! It took about 20-30 minutes to get the weapons and timing down, but after that, I was able to crank through the first 4 stages with the continues. After a couple of hours, I was into Stage 4 with no continues, so getting through the game for most should be less than 5 hours. Then you’re chasing for the best score, which I find the most fun. I used to enjoy 100-hour games, but being older, life just doesn’t allow the 8 -10 hours a night to get through a game that size. Bullet Hell Shoot’em Ups are a different story, they are super intense and enjoyable, but not as much of a commitment. Space Moth: LE is just the right amount of time and challenge to feel like I’ve accomplished something in a game, and then I put it in the weekend rotation to swing at a couple of runs until I get drawn back in and spend a few more hours. As a side note, I enjoyed it so much, I went and picked up Space Moth DX, which was the predecessor to Space Moth: Lunar Edition. It’s also an excellent game if you want more of the same. Enjoy! 🎮FoG🎮 FatOldGamers Curator Page
An absolutely fantastic arranged mode of the original space moth, with crazier bullet patterns and a more intricate scoring system. It's changed to the point that it is essentially a brand new game. Worth playing even if you own the original. The soul drain mechanic is a great risk reward mechanic that pushes you to play more dangerously to chase higher scores. The increased bullet density may seem intimidating at first, but with the newly introduced skull mode you can cancel a lot of it. Learning the best routing for skull mode and soul draining make this game scoring sing.
挺好玩的,也不难,主要是第四关的蜘蛛boss和dx版比改变了攻击模式,没那么吓人了,赞一个
Bullet Hell con ambientación de insectos. Me recuerda mucho al Mushihime-sama.
Cool, unusual soundtrack and lots of cool bugs. It a fun bullet hell, check it out!
Bullet visibility is miserable and the default difficulty is utterly unfun.
I do not like this shmup. For some reason, the bullets go too fast for me and I just get hit. Can't pass the first stage. I have a soft spot for this genre, so eventually I'm going to finish this game (but not today and not soon). Danmaku Unlimited 2 is more my speed and I prefer it. I'm currently trying to complete the first stage of DU2 on Very Hard with no continues (it's so good). Why am I giving this game an "upthumb"? Because I like shmups as a genre and appreciate small developers taking their time to make games in this great but forgotten genre. Keep them coming!
Tanky enemies, repetitive stage design, bosses 4 and 5 use impossible patterns. That's all the words I care to write about this junk.
