useless, overpriced, and replaceable with free crap off the internet. no reason to even have this on steam, let alone sell it for any amount of money. Sizes are off too, with stuff like 52x56 and 231x320. I only got this because i had extra gems from the steam auction, and im still upset. No matter what you do, do not get this thing. its just bad, and never had the possibility to be good in the first place.

This Space Galaxy pack's review will be very similar to that which I wrote for the main Indie Bundle Graphics pack, which I backed on Kickstarter in the middle of 2012. Like sound tracks on Steam, you are not buying an application. You're buying a bunch of content that downloads to your system and will be accessed directly. This bundle comes with a large amount of content (often broken into pieces, so you can assemble them for a much larger variety of funished pieces) that can be used in prototyping your games, finished games, websites, and just about anything else. Personally, I use it for prototyping my projects (and possibly hiring an artist for custom work, when all is said and done). At the time of writing, there are almost 5,500 images in this pack, for a total of almost 4gb. For someone with no pixel-art talent, the character creator bundle is particularly useful for me. I no longer just copy and paste in ridiculous clip art from the web as placeholders or use big grey blobs to represent things - I refer to the art pack and pull out *actual* artwork to make *actual* characters. Anyone who would scoff at the price either doesn't actually need artwork or has not dealt with commissioning or licensing actual artwork for games or other projects. I have. You'll usually wind up with a lot more strings limiting your use of the content and you'll pay more than this entire pack costs just for one piece of art work - whether commissioned specifically for you or just licensed from an existing royalty-free clearing house. If you don't know if you need or want this art bundle, then you probably don't. But you know if you do. This pack was clearly a massive undertaking for the artist and you're getting his custom work; not a bunch of random junk a cheap shareware company happened to be able to throw together. And for the price, it's hard to pass up, if you have a need for it.
I am a very bad artist, but I love making games. This pack is full of many, many great assets. It cost me 15 bucks for one animated alien ship (4 frames) on one of those artist for hire web sites. This is much more for a reasonable cost; even better if on sale. If you are trying to start making video games, but can't draw, this is a very valuable library of graphics to get you started, royalty free. I don't really understand the negative reviews.
pff this is s**t for 40$
It's a MAYBE for me, but in general I think this pack has great potential. MAYBE because I'm not in need of the space assets but it came with the huge pack as a must-buy and I'm not sure I'll ever use it... Okay, the GOOD stuff of this package. There are 32 different templates to build your spaceships. Some give more parts that others, but you'll be able to make a lot of different fleets/races for your game. All parts are modular so you copy/paste them into your favorite editor to make that unique ship. The same pretty much goes for planets, where you can make almost every imagineble planet you want. But there are also some BAD things. First off, this pack is made only for the big stuff - ships, spacestations (only 1 though), planets and suns and such. There's no interior for ships or spacestations. No cities for on your planets (though it does have a couple of nice other terrain features). I've also read about people complaining about the effect animations not to match at beginning & end. This seems to be true, but I think you should (and could) work on it for your own project and customize them the way you want. In general I think it's a good pack if you want to make a space shooter game with only ships and planets. If you want something in-depth with characters and such then skip it.
Hermoso Util y agradable 09/10
useless.
Not worth the money. The assets are outdated.
