This seems pretty good. I'm playing Space Empires IV more and more and got back into this one too.
Yes.
A játék maga jó lehetne.
didn't expect to like this one as much as I do, still a lot to learn but I can see sinking a lot of hours into this is space empires 4 deluxe.
Pretty much endless replayability! Mod the ships, and get a endless selection of races you can pit against eachother.
While I like the game, I am bias as I loved it when it came out. A lot of the game often comes down to micromanagement of resources but that entertains me. It is more about management than combat the the later has some fun too. Combat can be fun when you are faced with a superior number of enemy ships but your weapons have a longer range. With the pausable real time combat you can maneuver your ships to stay just out of range and grind down the enemy. And considering the game is nearly 20 years old, the visuals aren't too bad. And with the exploring new systems as you expand, I am addicted to the just one more turn.... One last fun note, the game runs better on linux today than modern windows. There are many posts out there on how to full screen the game in Win10/11 but it natively full screened for me in Linux (Fedora 42). I just encountered one quirk where I had to remove the innitial R on all .bmp files (there is a post in the community for it, File is Missing...) but then it played perfectly.
Still have my cd for this and SEIV both great games recommend this both but this one has better combat visuals and the same depth/mod friendliness. A good comparison game is Stelllaris which with its dlc has more than vanilla SEV with out mods, but there are mods aplenty and this is 9$.
Good turned based strategy.. quite an old title but still worth coming back to.
Keeps saying error and wont start on my win 11(it says it will work on 10+). It used to work fine on my win10. Somebody said it was the last update?
