this game was on my list one day for turn based tactics video games, cats and sci fi are a rare combination indeed. the graphics caught my attention at first and the integration of the internal schematics of the ships interiors being part of the strategy aspect of the game. if you like x-com and turn based hex grid combat this game is worth playing and checking out. its a one person developer too, given this the plot was interesting all the way through the play through with explorative elements as secondary. I think the rpg formatting for the choices are a nice touch and could be expanded further. the characters are memorable and consistent with the story. That being said I like the motely crew and their backstories written into the plot line as you progress. the abilities for the ship are pretty unique and useful as you explore each level. This game is fun and casual , but has alot of potential to grow. the 2d artwork was a bit inconsistent at times but still conveyed the story it needed to tell well enough. This game was a rare gem to play and i hope they make more games in the future like it.
Fun little spaceship tactical game, with combat on a 2D hex grid and an action-point based combat economy. With [mostly] cat crew that form the narrative of the story. The writing is suitable corny with sufficient cat puns, but not so many as to be annoying The ship is upgradable in a couple ways and rewards resource gathering / enemy looting. Nice variety of tactical choices during combat. Suitable graphics and pretty much fully voiced, which is a nice rare feature for a solo-dev driven project. Helps if you like cats...but not required. Fun little game. But I do like cats. And spaceships. And turn-based combat. Heads up: the game is short, took me about 8.7 hours and I'm generally slower than most people. There are few "side quests" and it feels like a few single jumps off the linear start path that forms the story could be a good feature. And there is no manual saving feature--there's an auto save when you enter a system (not station, just the system). To help with the larger star systems, especially ones with multiple phases (after visiting the locals usually), the dev added a respawn mechanic which restores your dead ship but in an already damaged state. Given the "nine lives" of cats, this is appropriate; and the game difficulty is such that you'll be able mend your ways and take out the rascals even when respawned with damage, so don't worry about it.
This was more entertaining than I was expecting. Doesn't take a massive amount of time to win, but the gameplay loop is fun, and I have always been a fan of turn-based games. The story is cute and provides a good backdrop to the combat which is the main gameplay.
This game is super cool! Love the cat puns and the visuals are very spacey!
Интересно иногда посмотреть на работу малой команды. Люди постарались. Выглядит не очень дешево при этом.
Let's start with the fact that this game is great. Now, the details of why it is great. It has cat's, so obviously that's a huge plus, but there are other aspects that are less obvious from first glance. The different areas in space that are magnificent. The music! There is different music in different parts of space and there are places where the music is so calming and everything is so atmospheric that you can actually feel your stress melting away. It is a strategy game, which means that at first you will probably make mistakes, but it is also a great thing because you have to think how to survive in space and how to kill ( ^^ ) better. Blowing stuff up is awesome! So even if you think that this game is not your cup of tea, you should try it out because for real you never know, and most of the time I don't play this kind of games but it is really good!
I really enjoyed this game. I beat it in about 6 hours but it was a fun little journey. I would love to see a sequel that has more customization options for ship/crew or additional content with additional missions. Great job!
A good little tactics game. Having to man the different rooms to activate different stations was a nice twist. Would be cool to see something a little bigger and open space with several sectors and main plus side quests. Bounty hunting, and maybe trading. Anyways enjoyed the play.
Its a cute little game with some really silly jokes. The combat is pretty solid for the most part, there are some weird bugs where your ship will freeze up when trying to give it a command, and you have to cycle commands to get it to fix itself. This didn't really happen to me during actual combat, just mostly while exploring and gathering resources. The characters are fun, and the story while not groundbreaking is good enough. There are a few grammar errors in the text, and not all the characters have a voice over, which can be a little distracting when only certain characters speak. If you like cats, scifi and silly jokes that will make you smile and roll your eyes more than laugh, this game is worth picking up.
I waited a long time for this game to come out and I really enjoyed it! My only issue was that the voice acting for Mitzi was not very good. Everything else was great!
