Soul Nomad & the World Eaters

A worthy contribution to Nippon Ichi Software's legacy. In my opinion, it is not inferior to Disgaea. Good worldbuilding and atmosphere, an interesting story, unique game mechanics and cute girls. As a ported PS2 title, it does show its age. It can be clunky, inconsiderate, and has a bit of a learning curve. But coming out the other side, my biggest disappointment is that there isn't more postgame content. I would love to see a modern sequel or spiritual successor.

Fun gameplay, interesting story, and great dialogue between the characters. I had the game for my PS2 back in the day and its still just as fun now as it was back then.

Such an underrated game in story and gameplay. It sort of flew under the radar on its ps2 release since it came out after the ps3 was already out. Really wish the quality of this steam port was just a bit better, but happy to have it. Seems like there are several animation bugs that were not in the ps2 edition as well as no support for modern aspect ratios.

不错的团队作战策略游戏，和战争交响曲：尼菲林传奇比较类似，策略要素比较丰富，可以多周目游玩。 战场中主角可以召唤多个小队作战，可部署的小队数由房间数决定，最大房间数和新的房间类型随着剧情发展而增加和解锁，新房间需要在家里购买。房间里的装饰物为所在小队在战场上提供额外的能力。每个房间包含前排、中排和后排，每排最多三个空位，即每个房间最多可容纳九位成员。玩家拥有的房间的类型和可容纳站位数都是随机出现的，可以不断手动改变房间，刷出满意的房间。对于满意的房间可以通过锁定命令来固定房间，保证在下次刷新时不被替换掉。 房间里部署了成员可以称之为小队。可以花钱招募成员并且可以按主角当前等级来指定招募成员的最高等级，招募的成员按攻击类型可以分为远程、魔法、近战和特殊，按移动类型可以分为水、平地、山和飞行，有各自所属的前中后排站位和与之对应的攻击模式。小队成员或是整个小队在战斗中被消灭后不会永久死亡，在退出战场后会复活。 小队中需要指定一个成员为领队，击杀领队可以使小队全灭。领队的技能决定着战场上该小队可使用的策略技能和战斗中使用的连招技能。领队的体力即为小队的体力，小队在行动或是被攻击时会消耗体力值，原地待命会恢复体力值，小队的体力在低于80%后可以选择威力强大的特殊技能来进攻，低于50%后会相应减少小队的属性。领队的攻击类型即为队伍的类型，远程攻击克制魔法队伍，魔法队伍克制近战队伍，近战攻击克制远程队伍。 两个商店可以分别购买房间装饰物和战斗使用道具，购物可以涨商店下方的黄色槽，黄色槽达到最大值后通过击败店主可以增加商品等级。 可以进入指定房间的地下城进行战斗，既可以获取经验、赚钱也可以对房间升级、可以对房间扩容、可以增加房间的能量来对成员的属性进行提高训练。 游戏中一开始和Layna对话时可以选择普通路线或恶魔路线，两种路线剧情、队友和战斗场景都不同，推荐二周目体验，而且二周目可以招募“超级赛亚人”，站中后排可以对敌方全体攻击，非常厉害。 游戏想要全就成比较肝，至少需要练到一、两千级吧，我猜这就是游戏没有设计转职系统的原因吧。

I had this for console so many years ago and I reached level 3000, lost all save for the game when I lost the console but steam made me happy by giving me this gem of a game back. Absolutely love the lore, characters and overall game play. I spent hours on this game. {SPOILER?} By far my favorite, it is repetitive but the ability to get different endings is just amazing.
