fun
A beautiful and painful love letter to Shadow fans I bought Sonic X Shadow Generations in 2024, but between being a dad, life, responsibilities, and having little free time, I only recently managed to sit down and finish it. And honestly, I did not expect it to hit me this hard. My first Sonic game was Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, and since then Shadow has always been my favorite character. Maybe I am biased, but his story has always felt different to me: pain, loss, guilt, purpose, and a loneliness that makes him stand out from the rest of the Sonic cast. This game reminded me why Shadow means so much to me. Without getting into spoilers, Sonic X Shadow Generations manages to treat his character with a level of emotion and respect that I truly appreciated. It is nostalgic, intense, and surprisingly heartfelt, especially if you have followed Shadow’s story for years. The gameplay, the atmosphere, the return to iconic stages, and the emotional focus on Shadow made this a beautiful experience for me. It reminded me why I loved Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, why Shadow became my favorite character, and why this franchise still means something to me after all these years. I do not usually write reviews, but this game made me want to. Sonic X Shadow Generations is emotional, nostalgic, and deeply special if you are a Shadow fan. Maybe it is overrated. Maybe I am exaggerating. But to me, it felt like a beautiful and painful love letter to everyone who grew up loving Shadow. I hate the world for creating such a beautiful story. And at the same time, thank you for giving it to me.
