I bought this game on sale alongside 19 other titles of varying quality. Out of those 19 games, this one was the one I thought I was never gonna play at all and believed that I had wasted about 45 dollars all for nothing. This game ended up being the most I've played out of all those 19 titles. I've never had this much fun with a kart racer. Despite me never really playing these types of games, I fell in love with this game in particular. The gameplay feels smooth, you'll notice that you have to stop accelerating when drifting most of the time and while that does feel wonky at first, you'll probably get used to it at some point and it seamlessly blends into the gameplay. I wouldn't say that the items in this game are bad. The balancing is horrible, yes, but from a design perspective, it's very clever. Wisps (which are the speed boost items in this game) barely give you anymore speed as in drifting or air tricks, however what they can do is allow you to blast through off-road terrain just as if you were racing normally on the track, allowing for really unique shortcuts that can make an insane difference in races. The King Boom Ghost is the "blue shell" in this game, creating a chain of explosions both on top and behind the racer in first place. However, the first place racer can also use this to their advantage by positioning themselves so the attacks hit the racers behind them, innovating on the blue shell instead of it just being another "first place disrupter" item in many other kart racers. I will say though, it's better to get this game on sale. As much as I like the game, in no world is it worth 60 dollars without DLC. The DLC is fun, but mods are needed to have DLC characters race in Grand Prix and give them voicelines (though for some reason Miku has them? though she is a synthesizer afterall). I got it for $45 USD including the DLC characters, and I felt like I got my moneys worth. SEGA, lower the price and it'll be perfect, I promise. I'm gonna keep playing this game, it's such a good timesink.
Lots of fun, has an arcade-y feel. The constant updates are nice too.
Si tan solo fuera barato we

本来以为卡通竞速都是给小朋友做的,结果这作的漂移深度比很多硬核竞速游戏做得还细,现在我每天睡前都要开两把,根本停不下来。
miku miku oo ee oo. fun time. fun courses. fun music. mikudayo
I will say, Sonic Racing CrossWorlds is a ton of fun as far as collecting every character, gadget, song, and racing vehicle in the game. What I found really annoying, though, is that those of us who bought the game on PS5, we were stuck behind a paywall that required a monthly or yearly subscription just to play online with friends or other racers, or to compete in the festivals. So, to play online, I either had to pay a fee or buy the game again on Steam. I wasn't planning on buying it again, so I stuck to playing on my PS5 for a while... until I got to a point where I couldn't do much else. I had picked up all of the red star rings, obtained all of the songs, raced against every other driver, and then... nothing. Couldn't level up much anymore because you could only win small amounts of Donpa tickets from normal gameplay. So I put the game aside. Then came the day when the game was discounted, so I said, ehh, why not, and gave it a second chance. Though having a laptop with limited space at a time when I couldn't expand it due to the RAM shortage and SSD prices skyrocketing was a little annoying when trying to download the game on PC. Not only that, but this game does not feature cross-progression. Meaning, in my case, if you wanted to give the Steam version a try, you couldn't pull any of your progression over from your PS5 onto the Steam account, making you literally start all over from scratch. And I really do mean from scratch; you have to sit through all the tutorials and level up all of your gear all over again. Not saying this is a bad game, though; I really do love it, especially since I am a huge Sonic fan. But maybe next time, can we have something a little different for those on the console versions? Honestly, forcing people to pay more for a Sonic racing game just isn’t making much sense to me for future Sonic gaming content.
