This Sonic Game was my childhood I used to play it on the Wii and DS I know the remaster has it's flaws but it's still fun to play and the soundtrack it just so nostalgia I could listen to it all day. I would recommend playing to experience it yourself but mostly wait till it's on sale.
A lot of people talk about issues with this port or it being bad, I guess fortunately had little to no issues with this game or how it ran so purely as a sonic game I think this game is pretty damn strong and a lot of fun:)
I wouldn't recommend this game unless it is dirt cheap on sale. It has plenty of levels, but only a seventh of them feel like actual levels rather than micro-stages. Even then I think the only memorable stage is probably the first Wisp Planet stage that everyone talks about. In my opinion it's near the bottom of the Sonic ranking list with Forces and Lost World, but it is at least higher than Forces since there is a ton of unique themes for levels and doesn't steal assets from prior games. It's not a bad game, but it is easily one of the weakest boost games.
This is a colorful and energetic platformer that brings one of the character’s most creative adventures to modern platforms. It combines fast movement, traditional platforming, and unique abilities to create a game that balances speed with exploration. The biggest strength is the level design. The game mixes high-speed sections with more careful platforming, giving players different ways to approach each stage. The introduction of special abilities adds variety, allowing players to reach new areas, discover hidden paths, and experiment with different routes. The colorful worlds and imaginative themes also give each level a distinct personality. The gameplay feels accessible while still rewarding skilled players. Newcomers can enjoy the straightforward action, while experienced players can replay stages to find collectibles, improve their times, and master the movement. The combination of speed, precision, and exploration gives the game strong replay value. However, the experience is held back by some issues. The remaster does not completely solve the problems of the original, and certain changes and technical problems can affect the overall polish. Some controls and camera moments can feel inconsistent, especially during faster sections, and the game may feel shorter compared to larger modern platformers. Overall, this is an enjoyable and stylish platformer that captures the fun, colorful side of the series. It may not be the most ambitious entry, but its creative levels, satisfying movement, and charming presentation make it a solid adventure for both longtime fans and players looking for a fast-paced platforming experience.
overall had a good time despite performance issues. on the better end of 3d sonic games but just barely. wisp powers weren't really fun to use but you aren't forced to use them too much
Good Sonic game, but the port to PC isn't much to offer to players. Its a score attack game, you can skip the story lore because the fun part is when you unlock wips, locations, and replay them to get S rank. Starlight Carnival act 6 and Aquarium Park 2 are the worst levels to get S rank. You need a lot of timing in a reduced level design.
This game is really good and I am enjoying it. I don't understand the hate :0
No Copyright Law in the universe is going to stop me.
Faithful remaster and port of a sonic game I love, the music, the gameplay -- albeit with some clipping problems -- the wisps and the added one are all 10/10. And of course the achievement hunting and rival rush replayability is clever.
