Before I played Sonata Theory, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
Firstly, for a college project, it was pretty good. Pros: 1) I like the art style of the main cast. 2) The music was pretty nice and relaxing. 3) The characters are likable, I especially enjoyed the clear personalities of the students themselves shining through Cons: 1) I have pretty bad motion sickness and the movement did not help. I think it is a mixture of the plants (making the rooms feel claustrophobic) and the 2D characters in a 3D world. It settled down in the outside areas on floor one though. 2) It was also a bit difficult to navigate the rooms with a fixed camera. I think what would have been better was either inspiration from some of the movement sections of Danganronpa (if you want to keep the 2D and 3D mix) or a minimap at the top right corner.

The game was good with the art, and the character designs were interesting. The dialouge and world building in general seems alright, I do hope it could expand more. It was quite surprising to see a 2D artstyle incorporated into a 3D environment. The only thing I hope could improve is the easier way to use the ability of destruction and charisma, it seemed to be a bit off for me.
I would suggest that the in-game character design into 3d, so that the animation will be more fluid than now. Also I would like to have a flow chart like other visual games from big companies to make sure the flow sequence develops smoothly. The game is more difficult without tutorials. The game's graphics can be said to be excellent. To add, my intel arc graphics card does not run this game, so I run it on my laptop with nvidia GPU. I don't know where the problem is in the dx11 part, if you see this comment, the developer can check with the problem.
This game was a little frustrating at times, but it was a good experience overall! I liked the blend of 2D characters in a 3D environment. I wish we could move the camera because I got stuck inside of rooms at times. The dialogue was very enjoyable, and the snippets of voice acting added a lot of character to the NPC's reactions to Cadence's choices. Unfortunately, the game was bugged for me, and I wasn't able to complete it since I got stuck at the final song against Silenzio. However, I probably would have went back to the real world because I love how cozy it felt with the warm color palette and comforting music. To add on to that, the music was also really good, and I liked the opening cut scene. My one gripe is that there is no save feature, so you have to play it in one go or you have to restart. For that reason, I really wish that there was a skip feature for the opening cut scene when I had to keep restarting since the final song didn't work for me. Overall, I liked the game even if I couldn't complete it!
This game is really, really beautiful. Kudos on the art direction and the artists/renderers implementation of it. I think it's worth playing solely due this. Unfortunately I need to add a caveat to that suggestion though. I wasn't so fond of the character movements in game. The lack of animation coupled with movement that I can only describe as "skateboard-like" mar your game and do it a disservice. I found it nausea inducing to some degree but I'm sensitive to such things. Your experience with the animation as a player may not include physical symptoms but it will likely be jarring all the same. I'm interested in your story and the song mechanics but I'm unable to continue playing due to those issues. I do think this is a worthwhile experience for others though so I'm suggesting everyone give it a playthrough while considering these potential issues. While I have issues with a a specific mechanic I'd like to still praise your efforts here- the game is just beyond pretty to look at.

This game was a interesting one. Starting out it is a bit clunky but the game is helpful in giving you the information you need when you need to use it. The game includes a variety of unique character with awesome personalities that you can interact with and have amazing banter with. I personally enjoyed that when you did something good or achieved something, your character would say "Nice!" The graphics and foliage look amazing too! Something that could maybe be improved is the component for exiting conversations or menu's, typically PC players expect escape button to get out of menu's instead of pressing the buttons that got you into the menu's get get back out.
The art style is very cute and i enjoyed the 2-D movement on a 3-D background it adds a uniqueness to the presentation. The presentation was also really well done and the music served the vibe the game was going for really well. The only thing that I did not care for was the story or dialogue, none of it really hooked me.
All in all, the game is a very interesting concept. I LOVE the inclusion of music theory through the names- its very cute! I also really like the art and aesthetic of the game. It can be a little hard to see when moving around just based on how the character movement is (so when you walk into a wall your character covers your whole screen and it gets really hard to see) but the character movement is really the only thing holding the game back. The dialogue options are cute as are the characters, all in all I will definitely give this game a good run through as soon as I have time. :)
