I love this game's art style. I also really like this game. I think there was this clash between a 2D character exploring a 3D environment, but I think both do a good job. I think this game should have the button to change perspective so you can see certain doors and whatnot and not just run into walls. I didn't even see there was a second floor until I was really confused on where the blood was to help out the first NPC. I think the story is really interesting, I love the dialogue options, you could tell someone with a sense of humor wrote them. I think the music notes were arranged really well and I like dhow chill the soundtrack was. I'm a fan of fast-paced combat; so this game not being that was a fun little shift for me. I do want to know more about the actual lore of the game, and I think I gotta get more into the game for that to happen. Overall, I'd give this game a good 7/10 simply because of that jarring 2D and 3D. Would I pay to buy this game? Honestly, yeah. I think this game would go hard on a console too.
A very pleasing and clean art style. The level and character design are aesthetically pleasing and clean. The dialogue options offer many unique pathways to follow during gameplay as well. The story can be a little too simple with the tasks given, but it is made up with the inclusion many different side quests that give you many more options to complete. I think improvements can be made with the story missions and quests, other than that, the game is a solid play with good art and pleasing music.

It was a very fun game and I really liked the concept. The art was beautiful but I felt like the animation was a bit clunky and could use some more frames in between.
Beat the game, chose to stay in Falsetto. I love the art style. The combination of 2d and 3d was a great choice! The world is super vibrant and I really enjoyed everything to do with music whether it be the background music, using music as magic, or just thematically with silence being the bad guy. The fourth wall jokes were also pretty funny. My only critique is getting used to navigating is a little hard since you can't flip the camera but this didn't detract from my experience.
This game was short and sweet. I enjoyed the art and overall aesthetic of it, and I felt that the way that 2D and 3D art were combined was handled well. I also enjoyed the silly, sort of self aware, nature of the dialogue and creativity of the world. I do wish that there was more focus on using the spells, although maybe I just didn't use them enough.
beautiful worldbuilding supported by the 2d+3d artwork, atmosphere, music, and character designs. there's a good bit of humor mixed in too with the various dialogue choices would love to see the magic spells implemented more, it was lots of fun playing them 🪷
Sonata Theory is a game with some very interesting mechanics and ideas, yet housed within a somewhat limiting environment. The puzzle elements were fun and really added to the visual novel aspect in a neat way, I appreciated how the puzzles could be solved in different ways, and required a bit of thinking to get through. And keeping true to most visual novel gameplay, I never got frustrated with the puzzles. I also enjoyed the unique mix of 2D and 3D graphics, and found it pretty easy to adjust to, even if there were some strange things the camera did at times. I do appreciate all these ideas, but the game does feel very very indie. Menus feel underdeveloped and the writing leans a bit too heavily on tropes. It's to the point where this doesn't feel like a standalone game to me, but more a springboard for future interesting (and better polished) games from these devs.
I love the style and vibes the game gives off. I wish it were longer. The nitpicks I have are very minor. The game is just a really short interactive visual novel with a couple of magic options that behave a bit like Ocarina of Time ocarina segments. I think if it were ever so slightly more polished (not much mind you) and the plot were a good bit longer it would be a pretty successful indie game.
I Loved the 2D + 3D aspect of the game, and though the atmospheres were breathtaking. The dialogue was also funny, and enjoyable. Very good game :)
