TL;DR The game is fun, good, and cheap. Buy it. The actual review: Sonar Scout is a straightforward game with fun, unique moment to moment gameplay and a strong theme that beautifully resonates through every aspect of the game. What starts out as a seemingly simple concept turns into a larger than expected journey through a variety of levels with a variety of submarines with their own gameplay. It starts easy, but it quickly shows that there is a fair challenge that will make you feel amazing whenever you squeeze your sub through the tiniest of gaps, or when you navigate a tough section purely through the power of your mind. And once you beat the levels, you can change the game from a careful exploration into a daring race if you choose to compete on the leaderboards for the fastest times. In a time period where some companies ask you for $70 to buy their uninspired clone along with another $10 for a battle pass...this game shows that games are still made with passion, for other gamers to play.

A unique game that knows what it wants to be. I already played the demo before buying it and really enjoyed my time there. The minimalist visuals and atmospheric soundtrack make me tune everything else out and focus on my submarine. Sonar Scout feels like a game from the 90s, with its clear intent, difficult levels and mysterious, hostle vibe. I love it! To me, the best feeling is when you make it out with only one HP left, so intense. The scoreboard is also a nice addition, and I bet will stir a fierce competition for the fastest / most efficient routes.

ハイセンスなイライラ棒 ソナーなしでは何も見えないイライラ棒。ゲームの難しさはそれだけ。 嫌らしい難易度の取り方のはずなのに、理不尽も不愉快も覚えない。 それは質実に表現された深海の暗さや怖さによるものだろう。 この息が詰まる重苦しい雰囲気がプレイヤーに与える作用は大きい。 地形が見えない不便さも受け入れられるし、いつソナーを使うかの判断ひとつが生死に直結しているようにも考えてしまい、緊張感のあるアドベンチャーゲームに近いプレイフィールを得る。 テキストを用いず簡素なゲーム画面だけで光の届かない世界の極限状態にいることを認識させているのは見事である。 全ステージクリアまで2時間ちょっと。全実績は面倒だが容易だろう。 ギミックもボリューム相応に用意されており、だるさを感じる点なく進められた。 高カロリーなゲームはやる気にならないアンニューイな25時におすすめ。

It's a great game from great developers. If you need something to pass some time, its perfect for a few hours.

This is a small game with a lot of depth. Its art and aesthetics are simple but evocative and its sound design is immersive. The gameplay is challenging and addictive.

Not recommended for those suffering from claustrophobia.
