Something for Someone Else is a short atypical experience, a brief journey into the mind of a distressed game developer that feels haunted by a game he made. All in the form of a poorly hand drawn narrative platformer accompanied by the beautiful musics of Celluloid Jam.

I don't really know whether to say any of this in a review, but I've decided to do so because I've never really felt so "personally" addressed before in a game. In a way that I was treated as what I was: a stranger that is listening in to someone else's story. Playing a game not meant for me, softly intruding in that space created for someone else, yet not unwelcome. That is why I will try to "respond" with the same courtesy, even if I might have no place to do so as an internet stranger. I just think it's something that I simply wish to convey, even a little. I hope that you, the developer (who might never read this, and that's okay), are in a better space now, and understand that this game you have made is not something you should feel ashamed of. It is an honest expression of your feelings back when you made this, and it is art in its own right. Thank you for feeling comfortable enough to share this with the world. While your - I guess the word for it nowadays would be a situationship - with that guy did not work out, I sincerely hope that you have found peace with those feelings. Potentially love in other places; love that has made your days happier, and your future outlook brighter. The game itself is one whose design is beautiful. It is hard gameplay-wise (because I am not that good with platformers unfortunately), and yet it is imbued with so many feelings. So much consideration went into every detail of this game, and it shows. The message at the end was possibly the best part of the entire experience. I'm just so impressed with the way you have managed to express it all through this medium. It ran so smoothly on my old laptop too. It's a genuinely lovely piece of art, no matter how you approach it, or look at it. So please continue making games (which I am sure you have). Your audience will be watching you with breathless anticipation, waiting for your next piece. Once again, thank you. I wish you only the best, from the bottom of my heart.

A breakup story told through an intentionally frustrating 2D plaftormer.
Inspiring.
Interesting concept, but the game just isn't enjoyable. The only good part is the platforming. But then you're forced to go through an endless tunnel, and listening to the creator’s thoughts over and over and over again - that’s neither interesting nor enjoyable. Now, you might say, “But going through a breakup isn’t enjoyable, so why should it be enjoyable in a game?” And yes, that’s exactly the point: It’s a game - and games are typically played because they’re meant to provide some form of enjoyment. The developer could have told this story through a short story, a novel, or even a visual novel. But combining an average platformer with what feels like an endless walking simulator just doesn’t work well. That said, I still appreciate the experiment. The game is worth playing, if only because I’ve never seen anything quite like it. One quote I wrote down from the game was: “Maybe that game is just the fruit of my infinite self-centeredness.” Yes, I agree. This is easily the most self-centered game I’ve ever played. And I don’t think games are the best medium for this kind of deeply introspective, one-sided experience. 5/10 – Interesting concept, poor execution. If you use the cheat, you can get all the achievements in about 20 minutes. Without cheat, you’ll probably spend two to three times as long.
Очень интересная игра про итальянских гомиков. Поздняков. Подписаться
es un buen juego que si sabes inglés, lo vas a entender bien lo suficiente para captar tremendo mensaje reflexivo del juego.
I don't really know how to articulate this, but despite its simplicity, difficulty, and every other valid flaw others have pointed out...this is a unique game, and a memorable one. If flaws make us human, then it made this a game. Bravo.
It conveyed all the emotions it was supposed to!

Short and sweet.
