Very simple auto battler in which you click on rewards after each round and watch characters beat each other. The main mode takes you through levels that contain several waves, each pitting you against one enemy. When you beat an enemy, you get to pick one attribute increase from a random selection of five. The rewards are annoying because they don’t reveal what they add unless you hover over them, so you need to inspect each one to choose the option that will help you the most. The rewards are fairly standard, offering damage increases, health boosts, and similar upgrades, and you can pick any of them without paying anything. Sometimes, completing a wave also leads to a store where you can spend coins earned from defeated enemies. Again, the selection is limited to five random items, and you get several free rerolls if you don’t like what is available. Shop items are similar to attribute upgrades, but their descriptions are cluttered and filled with numbers and percentages, making it difficult to tell how useful they actually are. This can be improved by buying the same item again. However, you can’t simply buy everything you want, even when you have more than enough money. Sometimes clicking on an item does nothing, and you’ll have to reroll several times to find something you can actually purchase. I believe this restriction is related to a limited number of slots or weapons, but I can’t confirm that. The final reward comes after every boss fight, which occurs every fifth wave, and these are major upgrades. For example, they can reduce mana costs for special attacks, restore some health after each wave, and provide other powerful benefits. The game can feel quite overwhelming, but there’s little payoff for mastering it. There’s also another mode where you have several knights fighting at once, but it’s even harder to understand despite the included help screen.

Solider AutoChess is an indie strategy title developed and published by Amk800 that takes inspiration from the growing auto-battler genre while introducing a distinct martial arts theme. Instead of commanding armies or managing large groups of heroes, players focus on building a single warrior through a collection of kungfu techniques that automatically execute during combat. The concept is straightforward, but it provides a surprisingly engaging foundation for players who enjoy planning, optimization, and discovering powerful combinations. The game's central feature revolves around collecting and upgrading more than one hundred kungfu skills. Each technique contributes to a fighter's overall effectiveness, encouraging players to experiment with different combinations in search of the most efficient build. This emphasis on synergy gives the game much of its replay value. Rather than relying on fast reactions or mechanical skill, success comes from understanding how individual abilities complement one another and adapting strategies as new options become available. Combat unfolds through automated one-on-one battles, allowing players to focus on preparation rather than direct control. This design choice keeps matches accessible and easy to understand while still rewarding thoughtful decision-making. Watching carefully constructed builds perform in battle can be satisfying, especially when a newly discovered combination proves more effective than expected. The smaller-scale encounters also make it easier to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of specific techniques compared to larger auto-battlers that can sometimes feel visually overwhelming. The roguelite elements further enhance the experience by ensuring that no two runs feel exactly the same. Different skill choices, upgrades, and strategic paths encourage experimentation, while the multiple game modes provide additional variety beyond the core progression loop. Players who enjoy refining strategies over repeated playthroughs will likely find the game's structure appealing, as there is a constant incentive to test new approaches and improve existing builds. Visually, Solider AutoChess adopts a relatively simple presentation. The focus is clearly placed on gameplay systems rather than high-end graphics or cinematic storytelling. While the visuals may not stand out in a crowded market filled with larger productions, they serve their purpose adequately and allow the game's strategic mechanics to remain at the forefront. The lightweight technical requirements are also a benefit, making the game accessible to players using older or less powerful hardware. One area where the game may divide players is its limited scope. Those looking for expansive narratives, large battlefields, or extensive character interaction may find the experience somewhat minimalistic. However, players who appreciate streamlined strategy games and enjoy experimenting with layered progression systems are more likely to appreciate what the title offers. The martial arts theme helps distinguish it from many fantasy-themed competitors and gives the game its own unique identity within the auto-battler space. Overall, Solider AutoChess succeeds as a focused and accessible strategy experience built around experimentation and build crafting. Its extensive selection of kungfu techniques, automated combat system, and roguelite progression create a gameplay loop that rewards patience and strategic thinking. While it lacks the production values and content scale of larger genre leaders, it delivers enough originality and depth to stand out among indie auto-battlers. For fans of optimization-heavy gameplay and martial arts-inspired mechanics, it is a worthwhile title that offers a fresh spin on a familiar formula. Rating: 5/10
I'm gonna give this a thumbs up because I miss fun autochess games, and I think there's a lot of fun in here, but some decisions made here make it REAL difficult to fully recommend. The good: I love the theme. The synergies are cool, there's a lot of what SHOULD be aesthetic of you putting together your own martial art and having a big tournament. The bad: the art, and color choices. "Fully armored knight" and "kung fu" do not really match at all. Please, please get an artist to fix this. Also, get an artist to help you with color choices - it's really hard to read the words based on the lettering versus background colors. Also, the synergies icons are way too hard to read - maybe make them actually square instead of that narrow rectangle. If those things would be fixed, it'd be an easier game to recommend.
