I Kickstarted a game called SolForge by Stone Blade Entertainment back in 2012 which would later be abandoned and left in an unplayable state. 4 years after the last real update on the Kickstarter I get an e-mail to give me opportunity to give them more money for something else they totally won't abandon like the first thing they took my money for and then abandoned. I won't rant further but instead share the comments on that post, of which the sentiments I echo whole-heartedly. "The irony of getting advertised on a dead KS product." "I can't say that I am anything but disappointed. You removed "official support" for SolForge, then removed the ability for the player supported version to run as well. We have ZERO way to access our collections at this point and you ask us to fund a NEW kickstarter project? I'm sorry but I can not do that." "Advertising this on both of your previous projects which are either dead or a shadow of what was promised seems really tone deaf. I actually look forward to seeing this in person, eventually, but I can't in good conscious back this." "So the game we all paid for on this Kickstarter is not just dead, but unplayable, and now you want us to fund your next endeavor? Seriously? Release SolForge's source to the people who paid to have it developed and then maybe we'll talk about the next project of your's." "Guys like this was some call a "♥♥♥♥ move" this project is effectively dead and a lost cause and you a promoting another project on this page. Just delete this update if you still can... it's a major slap in the face... I was considering backing ascension tactics...and now i'm having second thoughts..." "I mean... good luck, hope it goes well, but maybe this isn’t the place for this?" "No," "You've got to be kidding me here. Wrong forum to promote your next project" "You people have a lot of nerve to promote a project here! If anything this serves as a warning, a reminder of your company's name and how trustworthy you are. I'd rather set money on fire than handing it to you. It just makes me angry to see you trying to con more people with your schemes." "I agree with everyone’s comments. Posting this here was really sleazy and made me change my mind about tactics. I was leaning towards backing but now I am not going to. You are a terrible company." "Jeez way to bring up some bad memories. I mean good luck with your new project but you are advertising to some salty mofos"

I've played SolForge for over 2000 hours, so that's my perspective on what SolForge should be. +Keeps the core lane and card upgrade mechanics +There's single player campaign with some roguelike/-lite feel to it +Good enough UX/UI in the actual gameplay ---DOES NOT HAVE FREE DECKBUILDER!? Instead you combine deck halves - naturally which are sold as P2W microtransactions = I will never recommend a card game that doesn't have a free deckbuilder. That's where SolForge rocked. Without free customization, I have literally zero interest in the game.
I played the original game and loved it UNTIL it turned into a game where you had to have certain cards or ways of taking care of those OP cards. When I realized they remade the game, I was excited to check it out. The game sorely needed to be updated. Online games had become unplayable and lost their fun factor due to these OP cards and decks. Huge negatives came up immediately. There is no way to change the cards in your deck in this deck building card game, even in the single player campaign. You get what is in the deck and there is no way to add cards to your deck or customize it in any significant way. Many or most cards have been remade. At first I thought this was a great thing, something sorely needed. I soon realized that a lot of the remade cards that I didn't consider OP have been turned into junk. Those great cards I loved to have in my deck I don't see a reason to play over a monster. This connects directly to the biggest negative of this game. The biggest negative is that this game is all about one thing. Once you overpower your opponent with number of monsters on the field, you win by default. If you can't keep creatures on the board, you lose. Are you thinking of this great strategic move? Unless it is about keeping your creatures alive, it's not as good as throwing a monster on the field to either shield you from damage, crowd the lanes, or because of their activation ability. It's part of the reason I got burned out of the original game.
We bought physical card packs, and played offline. Then went through the mess of registering and registering our packs here, and wanted to play against each other. It does not work, the game just hangs. Playing against AI is worthless, it is too stupid, making obvious bad plays, especially replacing creatures over and over again. Playing online gives the illusion of playing against other players, but there does not seem to be any humans playing, so you get paired with an AI without the game telling you so. It is very clear it is AI opponents, as they make the same stupid errors in play as when playing against an AI, which no human player would do. There does not seem to be any active community, my posts in the forum were unanswered for a week. There are lots of errors in card effects, which really breaks the enjoyment of the game when effects do not trigger. The generated nature of cards and decks is really annoying when you get multiple cards in the same deck that use mostly the same image, and it is hard to know which one is which from the image, and that they have very similar powers. After testing 6 different fused decks I am done with this game. Having 20 deck halves in a fixed game format (not collectible) that were good and interesting would have been a lot better than having thousands of crappy generated deck halves. I have no interest in buying and testing more decks that work so poorly, all of them having cards that are never played and not interesting at all. The game system is solid, but the monetisation strategy is bad. Avoid.
A sad shadow of what once was.
It is just a cash grab
Couldn't play because I couldn't reset my password, contacted on their X account and they said it wasn't something they could fix. So, unplayable.
It'll give you about 25 hours of fun F2P singleplayer content before you get bored of it. But beyond that, there's not really enough of a carrot to pay for this game. So if you just want to kill some time while getting into a card battler mood for something like MTG but less bloated and messy, this is a good way to burn around 25 hours.
After the first play-thought then couldn't play the game anymore
