Solasta II

the game has so many bugs. the boxed light clouds, characters getting stuck underwater when they swim, i love dnd type games so i want this one to succeed so badly, the game has an astonishingly amount of potential it just needs to fix the bugs, complete the story and this would be a worthy rival of Baldur's gate 3

I pray that this is just the Bones, as I see other reviews say. That said, The gameplay is good. Fight works like DnD fight. Level up and long rest feel great. Even if the characters are ugly and the dialog is terrible. A rogue like mod will be made at some point, so this works for what we want it to work for. The character models are ugly as all get out. Dwarf look like Gears of Wars MC. They looks like Hunchback humans. Not very Dwarf like. Edit - * turns out the thing I thought was a halfling was a gnome. I am leaving this section because they look slightly human, while halflings look like a human model shrunk down to 1/4 size.* Halflings all look like monsters with giant bug eyes. Halflings are not monsters like Gnomes. I haven't seen a gnome yet, but based on what the halfling looks like, I am sure it will either look the same, or give me nightmares for the rest of my say. Hopeful this gets fixed at some point. List of Pros - When you attack if Sneak attack can be used it will ask to activate and it will happen. No having to select it (BG3) - (this is in con also) No Role Playing in this RPG. Select roles and story happens. Your characters just do the thing and say the stuff. No dialog trees or anything. This is a con, but it is a huge Pro if you are playing multiplayer, so you can just do the game, no fuss. - Selected roles like 4E style for the party members, allows everyone's character to take part in all dialog, instead of everyone feeling like they are part of one players journey - World map movement is very clean and good. Makes long rest have purpose other than getting spell slots - Movement using WSAD, hit SPACE to jump if there is a gap gives a good clean and fast feeling movement - No sexy talk, just fantasy adventure - New continent to explore Cons - Assuming you will sneak attack and it doesn't prime because you don't know for sure if you get it :( - No Role Playing in this RPG. If you can't roleplay, make the characters more diverse or hell even obvious tropes. That way they are rememberable. The only difference between "golden child" and "Leader" is nothing. -No jumping to get up to higher ground. Only can jump map made holes/pitfalls - Amazon/Aztec world. Not my cup of tea. I am sure dinos are going to show up.
