This game is exactly the type of game I'm looking for, but the author abandoned it in a fairly unfinished state. If the game ever got fixed I could consider revising this review, but as it stands, it's just not a working game.
Athletic Zone.
Points positifs :
- L’humour omniprésent... - Des mini-jeux variés autour du football... - Des quêtes secondaires amusantes - La partie RPG sympathique - Durée de vie intéressante (environ 15 heures)
Points négatifs :
- ...Mais qui ne fait pas souvent mouche ! - ...Parfois totalement injouables !
This game is awful. The guide shot doesn't work. You miss when you have it lined up perfectly, point in case being the shark attack game which is virtually impossible to do. Same with the volley ball. So disappointing.
Fun little football game, don't know why it is mixed reviews. Maybe I was lucky but I didn't notice any bugs and the story and quests were fun, with alot of different minigames. Only downside, the match engine was crappy and there were too many find this and find that quests were you just ran around pixelhunting. But overall a good little indie game
STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME AT ALL COSTS. ABANDONED BY DEVELOPER WITH SIGNIFICANT BUGS WITH ZERO UPDATES. The game is fun but it has LOTS and I mean LOTS of bugs that take away any enjoyment, I played through despite the bugs (as it does seem that there's a good game hidden underneath) until after 9.6 hours i reached a game breaking bug that literally makes progress impossible.
I really enjoyed the game until the 3rd zone the running mini game does not work for me where you have to spam A or E it just cuts off no matter what I do and since it is mandatory for progression I am stuck at this zone and cant get passed. update: for athletic zone turn off v sync some of the issues are because of v sync I would recommend the game even with some of the game breaking bugs
Pro Tip: Change the difficulty to Easy to recreate BRA71L for every encounter! A bit buggy, but nothing that was game-breaking or was not fixed with a restart, however YMMV. More of an adventure game than a Soccer (Football) game, with footy being the "combat" encounters. Exploring the world was fun, the mini-games were entertaining and the story was decent and wholesome. You get a good idea of what to expect by the promotional videos on the store page, so if that intrigues you then go for it, but do so when it's on sale as it appears that this will not be getting any bug fixes or performance updates. I managed to get all achievements even though some side quests remained bugged. Thankfully, those were only required to fully max-out your team's stats, which does not seem to be required to do so unless you attempt to play on Hard (not recommended). The difficulty seems to simply increase the stamina and speed of the opponents during a footy "combat" match, so save yourself the frustration and set it to Easy for a much more relaxed experience (then change the difficulty for one or two achievements to complete your play through).
Would pick a side-thumb if I could. The premise is good and it's a charming game but the soccer gameplay isn't fantastic and there are quite a lot of bugs and things not working quite right. Although none of the bugs stopped me from completing the game, I did have to force quit the game and lose some progress once and also there was a story mini game where I had to turn off Vsync or otherwise it didn't work. Besides this, there are general issues with collision detection throughout the game, and there are quite a few side missions, which isn't a bad thing, but some of them just feel like a waste of time - I created a few Steam guides for some of the more annoying side quests to save someone else's time in future. Also a real lack of music (e.g. soccer matches have no bgm) doesn't help. The game's biggest issue is that it just needed a bit more playtesting. Many NPCs show a Talk button but say nothing at all, some issues are just a lack of care e.g. an NPC standing next to a graveyard saying "the graveyard is locked" after you've already unlocked it, or the shopkeepers saying they are in trouble even after you've just finished the story quest to solve their problems. I could accept an NPC on the other side of the world not saying the right thing based on the story's timeline, but when an NPC literally involved or next to a thing says the wrong stuff, it breaks the game's immersion. All these sorts of issues make me feel the game isn't worth the asking price. I got the game on sale at 75% off and I feel that was ok all things considered.
