8/10 An excellent sokoban in which you don’t push boxes, but clouds made out of your… 100% organic oddly odorous outbursts. What is it: A puzzle game in which you must eat all the food but avoid at all cost all the gaseous consequences of your ingurgitation. You’ve just been hired as a food critic by the mysterious Cornelius L., and your first assignment is sampling all the spicy tacos at La Pimenta Gastronomic Fair. But the thing is that your family suffers from an illness called Fartus Fartalis, eating spicy food makes you produce deadly gasses. Literally deadly! If you engulf anybody in your fatal fumes, they die! People die, flowers wilt, food rots, so you have to be careful and manage your flatulence to avoid all disasters. But lucky for you, through years of practice you’ve become a master airbender, you can wave your arms in such an intricate way as to be able to push around pockets of foul air without dispersing any unwanted smells. Can you waft your way through the entire exhibition without killing anyone (other than a few unlucky plants), and maybe even find love? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3440368611 The unique premise makes way for interesting mechanics. While in normal sokobans the goal is usually to put boxes on specific target spots, here the goal is to get the “boxes” out of the way, keeping them away from people and food. As gas, you can easily push multiple clouds at once, and you can even compact them into super stinkers. Each type of food makes its own type of gas pattern, with three foods to experiment with. Although not too many, the extra mechanics keep the game fresh for more than a hundred levels, with some really tricky puzzles near the end. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3440368250 Peppered throughout there are some dialog levels, adding more to the story, and there are a few different characters you will encounter on your journey, guards, luchadores, an old gardener, and a few ladies. Overall, it’s a well rounded game with unique mechanics, good puzzles, a funny story, good looks and sounds, ideal for those who want a little more in their puzzle games than just puzzle solving. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3440368483 How hard is it: Easy to moderately hard, ★★★☆☆. The levels are small enough that you’re never left to wander through a much too big solution space. How long is it: 119 levels, 3-6 hours, with some optional levels. You can skip as many levels as you want, and you can unlock all the levels at once. Level design: Great. Pretty unique levels, with humorous names that sometimes give you a clue, although a few of them are variations on the same theme with just a few items shifted. Quality: Good enough. Unlimited undo, though not through restarts. Good level select. Progress reset. Basic controls, works with keyboard and controller. Lovely pixel graphics and music, and lots of foley sounds. A decent story, quite funny dialog. A few audio and video settings. No cloud saving yet, but the devs are working on it. Good achievements. Small, fast and responsive. Worth the price: Yes. Most positive aspect for me: Unique mechanics. Most negative aspect for me: Too short, I need more! What would make it better: Custom level editor and workshop support. Undo through restarts. Configurable controls. Cloud saving. 《So Fart Away》是一款...
Blob
Difficulty : 2/5 (Normal) Global : 3/5 (Very Good) Curator page : Anokturnus So Fart Away is a humorous sokoban puzzle game. You're Linguini, a poor fellow that accepted the food-critic job his new boss Cornelius offered him... and quickly regretted it. Linguini descends from a long line of giant-butted extreme farters affected by an illness called Fartus Fartalis. Spicy food especially becomes a dangerous weapon, as Linguini emits dreadful poisonous clouds of death each time he eats some. And guess the name of the gastronomic festival he has to cover? La Pimenta. Yeah, that's rough. Each puzzle has food scattered around, you need to eat everything for the exit to unlock. The fart pattern is different depending on the type of food you eat, tacos leave a line of maximum 3 clouds behind you while donuts surround you with clouds. Nothing can stand in your toxic deflagrations : the flowers wither, people die (I have to say, watching people scream and melt in your fart is funny), eating soiled food is out of the question, and, of course, Linguini can't go inside. Fortunately, you can still push those clouds. So you either need to get them out of the way or cleverly use them to make flowers wither, as flowers are used as a way of blocking the path. The difficulty is balanced, the puzzles are so small and the mechanics so few and basic that you can't really struggle much on the puzzles (though some of them still get a bit hard). The puzzle design is high quality. It makes use of the classic thinking you encounter in all the very good sokoban games, with an emphasis on the lack of room. The game even manages to offer a lot of variety despite the mechanics being scarce, which proves their potential was finely exploited. It's not the first time I say that, but So Fart Away is exactly what I expect from a sokoban. Aside from a few typos, there's nothing bad to report. A gaseous yet very solid game, recommended.
Fun Sokoban-style game where you make your own obstacles and push them around. This quirky indie title follows the misadventures of Linguini, a food-loving, money-hungry guy cursed with an unusual family trait: the inability to eat spicy food without producing noxious fart clouds. When Linguini lands a job as a food critic assistant, he believes he’s hit the jackpot—until he realizes that it involves spicy tacos. The core gameplay revolves around solving small, grid-based puzzles where the exit only opens after gobbling up all the food. The catch? Each bite releases three stinky fart clouds from Linguini’s rear end. To make matters worse, these putrid puffs can’t touch other food, innocent bystanders, or any other fragile objects. The crux of the challenge lies in positioning yourself and your farts in such a way that they’re pushed into harmless corners or stacked up against walls to minimize their spread. Ingeniously, the clouds can be pushed around once released. You can even pile clouds on top of one another to clean up the room, but this requires walls or other solid objects. One of the game’s greatest feature is its forgiveness. A single press of the undo button lets you go back one step at a time. You’ll need it too, as it’s all too easy to inadvertently block your own exit with a fart cloud. What makes the game particularly clever is how it respects your time. You don’t have to complete every single puzzle to reach the final level. After solving certain rooms, the path often branches into multiple routes, giving you the freedom to skip some stages. Completionists will be pleased to know that solving all puzzles rewards you with achievements—though nothing else tangible, as the game has no collectibles or extras. The game’s journey spans eight chapters with 105 puzzles in total. While chapters don’t introduce brand-new mechanics one after another, they still manage to keep you on your toes with occasional twist. One mechanic involves plants that need to be "killed" with fart clouds. The number of flowers in a pot indicates how many clouds are required to fully neutralize it, with the gas vanishing on contact.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEtU13gLx6s
A sokoban game with crazy good mechanics, with a tight lighthearted storyline that doesn't overstays its welcome and good humour from top to bottom! If you want to "learn the intricacies of farting" and solve low stakes, laidback puzzles, this is the game for you
I usually don't like puzzle games but i was pleasantly surprised by So Fart Away! I haven't finished the game yet (~15h of gameplay at the moment), but I'm near the end. There aren't many mechanics and they are easy to grasp, the levels are not convoluted, and yet it is a really challenging game. The puzzles are also smart, you don't feel tricked in any way, and basically every level makes you have a "eureka" moment, which is awesome. The story is spot on for this type of game IMO, it is simple, doesn't take much screen time, it is interesting, and has a touch of humor that I enjoy. Speaking of which, the jokes are funny, it isn't a bunch of dad jokes as I was expecting lol. Poor Linguini has to fart so much... In short, the game is worth the money, even the double if you ask me. For 120+ well though out levels, yeah, well worth it! Shout out to the devs, game's fun and it's noticeable the work you guys put into it.
A trilha sonora então? 💨🔥
This is a fun and light-hearted puzzle game with a story that will undoubtedly make you laugh, after all, fart humor will never not be funny. Aside from the main storyline there are some extra optional puzzles that will definitely make you think, the puzzles never feel stale since new mechanics are frequently introduced every few levels.
An absolute blast! 💨💥
So Fart Away is a brilliant puzzle game with a hilariously unique concept—farts! The execution is spot on, making it both fun and surprisingly challenging. I highly recommend it to everyone! Beyond being a great game, it was also the first one that managed to captivate my niece's attention, and we had a blast playing together. That alone made it totally worth it. Huge thumbs up to the developers! 👍🎮
