This game is a blend of tower defense and FPS. It blends the two together beautifully! The price asked for this game is a STEAL for what you are getting! Understanding that it is in EA, the game is better than most of the fully released games for VR so far! The graphics and animations are top notch! Aiming is precise. Movement is done with a teleport system - which I don't mind at all. I play hours at a time and I do not feel the least bit motion sick nor do I have any headaches, which does happen (one or the other - or both) to me in some other games... The game saves the level you are at and the weapons you unlocked automatically if you exit, which is nice as I have a tendency to take my headset off and close the game with the mouse, rather than the in game exit steps. I've completed the game up to the convention center with no issues at all. The beginning tutorial is appropriate to show you how to play, and you can repeat it as needed to get the hang of things. NOTE: you MUST have the sound on (either thru speakers or earbuds) as the tutorial is talking you thru some activities. I did not have my sound on and thought the game was broken and restarted it twice. When I turned on the speakers, I heard what I was supposed to do. I very highly recommend this game! I am very much looking forward to seeing what else the developer does with the game as it nears release. The passion the team has for details and quality are apparent in the polish of this EA release. I can't bestow enough kudos to this game or the development team! If you are a fan of tower defense - get this game... YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! UPDATE: The developer is really quick to respond to issues/problems with a patch to address them. Within just a couple hours they had a patch out for an audio issue I had. TOP NOTCH TEAM!

Snailiens has been a great play so far. It's so fun being able to stand in the middle of a tower defense warzone! The guns feel really good (especially the noob tube rocket launcher ^.^...that zoomed in scope is kick ass). The designs are very polished. Being able to switch to different combinations keeps the gameplay interesting. I also LOVE the pathing arrows...it's really nice to be confident in the wall placement and not have those moments like "WTF! They're just going around it!!". This game is a great display of what VR is all about, putting you in the middle of the action instead seeing it through a monitor. Awesome job guys! I can't wait to see more!!

这才是VR塔防游戏应该有的样子！非常不错的第一人称VR塔防游戏，你要保卫的竟然是大白菜！蠢蠢的外星人来地球没有别的目的，一心只想抢大白菜…其实，我想说，一堆大白菜而已，大家何必这么辛苦，要就拿去吧… 虽然是抢先体验版，但完成度已经很高，细节都做得很好。大厅很大，有各种库房选择武器装备，开始任务的方式比较特别，东西从天而降，第一次真被吓到了... 目前有8张地图。塔防设施和武器千奇百怪，发射和使用时的特效真的有置身战场的感觉，比起其他VR塔防游戏，沉浸感要好多了，玩起来感觉耳目一新，而且很爽！ 外星人是一波又一波的进攻，每一波开始后，就不能再建造和升级塔防设施了，所以要在开始之前想清楚策略。外星人会从四面八方出现，但真的很蠢，通过筑墙和布防就可以让外星人转进攻路线，这样就能专心对付一两个地方的外星人了。 外星人到地球来真的只有一个目的，不搞破坏，随你怎么杀他们，他们都不会反抗，一心只往大白菜方向跑，所以不用担心塔防设施被他们破坏...外星人虽然蠢，但是要抵挡住外星人的进攻并不容易，因为人家实行的是人海战术… [strike]我对这游戏唯一的抱怨就是瞬移时要用触控板选方向，我看这游戏能坐着玩，估计这样是为了方便坐着玩，但站着玩就很不方便了，明明可以很简单地在现实中转向，用触控板选方向后，反而不适应，因为大部分游戏的瞬移都不是这样的，很不习惯，方向感更差了，很影响作战效率。强烈建议更改成不用选方向的瞬移方式。 [/strike]（原来有选项关闭） 真心推荐大家试一下这种真·VR塔防游戏，我不希望被埋没了，开发商踏踏实实做了个好游戏，默默无闻无人玩就太可惜了。

There are some great first-person tower defense games out there, such as Orcs Must Die. Snailiens isn’t one of them. It’s shallow, the controls are clumsy, and the graphics blocky and simplistic.

The controls are absolutely awful on the Oculus Rift. The game is also a bit outdated as well and I experienced some bugs (not just the snail kind). Snailiens is a Tower Defense game / alien wave shooter. There are many kinds of snails and various weapons you can use from powerups as well as towers and other defenses you can place. You can upgrade them all and find the right synergy between the different combinations and different elemental attacks. There is a nice little depth to this game. There are two major regions: the USA and Japan. USA has 8 different levels, each with their own varied environment and danger. Japan has at least 5 levels and may have 8 (didn't get that far). Teleport is the default locomotion. It's awful on the Oculus Rift as you have to press down on the Touch joystick to teleport and then you're facing in the direction of the teleport, which is liable to change at the last second whether you want it or not. I suggest immediately changing it to full locomotion in the options, although you won't be able to snap or smooth turn. Placing down barricades or turrets is also clunky. The UI is ugly. There aren't very many options in the settings (at least it has some visual settings). HTC Vive wands are shown as the controls, even when you're on the Oculus Rift. The weapon mechanics did not feel good in this game. You have to keep firing with your trigger finger with your default pistol to bring down enemies. Also, the power-ups and towers, just don't feel powerful enough. I also experienced a bug where the final wave wouldn't finish and the game had me repeating the same wave, without accruing any money or credit for the wave. I had to manually quit the game. Luckily, I got this game in a bundle so I don't feel cheated. It's got a nice bit of content and it has some nice depth. However, the game overall feels outdated and lacks the polish needed. Nice ideas, but the execution was poor. [b]Rate 4.5/10. If you can get this game for less than $2, it may be still worth it. Otherwise, there are just much better TD games out there with better polish. Shame, because otherwise this game could have been one of the premiere TD games in VR.[/b]

***PAST REVIEW*** I've played a lot of tower defense games and most of which had a challenge to it, for this game however, i love the thought of it/ the plot/ the look, but it just was not challenging. I played the first couple rounds and there was no real threat, you could just make a maze, put up some turrets and call it a day. If anything to make this game more immersive I suggest giving the bigger snails more health to deal with. Now I don't know if the game becomes more challenging as the game goes on but it was just very slow passed. I went as far as the very loud little drone general and just called it quits. ***NEW REVIEW*** I'm really glad I decided to give this game another chance after my last time playing it. Saw the developers notes on my previous review and decided to re-purchase(I want to support the game) and try the game once more. Started a new adventure and it feels WAY different than the first time I played. Snails are faster, building mechanic is stronger, and It doesn't feel so one sided. I actually have to think about placement now for walls and other defensive items. Happy to see this game grow and developers who take the time for feedback, great job. Thank you for the free Key choice as well but again I want to support these type of games. This tower defense really stands out from others I've played well done.

Wow. This game is clunky and the graphics are very very low quality. I regret purchasing.
