Reviews
The game gets straight to the point, skipping complicated introductions or story. As soon as you start, you're dropped into a central hub that doubles as the main menu. From here, you have four key areas to explore, but the most important is the portal located at the bottom of the screen, a gateway to starting a run. Another tempting area is the tent, where you select your character. There are six characters in total, but only the first one is available from the start. The remaining five must be unlocked by meeting two separate requirements. The first requirement is tied to specific in-game milestones. Thankfully, these are shown and are achieved by simply playing the game a lot, so there’s no ambiguity or guesswork involved. In fact, you’ll unlock the second character just by dying once, which is very likely to happen during your initial run. The second requirement involves a special in-game currency: gems. These are rare and are typically earned by defeating tougher enemies. Each new character becomes progressively more expensive, requiring more gems than the last. Besides differing in appearance and starting weapons, each character also brings unique traits. For instance, the bounty hunter deals more damage, while the ninja has superior dodge ability. The game consists of three stages and a final endless stage. To unlock the next stage from the stage select, you must survive each stage long enough to face and defeat the boss. These stages must be completed in order. Your task is simple: move around the arena to avoid getting overwhelmed while enemies continually close in on your position. Your weapon fires automatically (though this setting can be toggled off), and defeated enemies drop experience orbs. Collecting these orbs fills up your XP bar, and each time it fills, you level up and get to pick one perk from a random set of three. Perks may come in the form of new weapons or items. You’re limited to five weapons per run, so choosing wisely is key. Once added, weapons can’t be removed or swapped, which encourages you to commit to a particular strategy. Items, however, have a larger capacity, up to 18 slots, so the lack of space is never an issue. You can even pick the same item multiple times to boost its effectiveness. Weapons can also be upgraded, increasing their projectile count, decreasing cooldowns, or granting unique effects, like giving a bow more projectiles with slightly reduced damage. As you survive longer, the enemies become stronger and more diverse. Alongside basic enemies, elite foes appear approximately every minute. These tougher enemies can shoot projectiles and pose a greater threat. Defeating them usually results in a valuable drop, which can be either a gem or a reward chest that lets you choose a perk for free. Elite enemies come in different types, and after you’ve seen them all, the game loops through them again. But this time, you’ll face two elites at once. They’re particularly dangerous during encounters where you're confined to a small area until you defeat them. You do have a dodge ability to escape tight spots, but things can quickly become chaotic when that space is also packed with regular enemies. In addition to elite drops, occasional reward chests spawn in the environment. All you need to do is stay within a marked circle for a few seconds or kill enemies to claim them. Other helpful items include health potions and magnets that draw in all experience orbs on the field. These are dropped by certain enemies marked with the appropriate icon. Since you can easily lost track of tiny items, an arrow points to the nearest interesting thing. Whether your run ends in victory or defeat, you’ll receive a reward in the form of coins. The longer you survive, the more you earn. Along with gems obtained from elites, these currencies are used back at the base to unlock permanent upgrades. Gems can be spent in the merchant’s tent to unlock new weapons, which then become available in future runs. On the right side of the hub, you’ll find a campfire where coins are used to improve character stats. The upgrade options are standard, with options like increased damage, faster experience gain, and wider pickup range. However, there’s a cap on how many times you can boost each stat to maintain game balance, and each subsequent upgrade becomes more expensive. In summary, while the game doesn't break new ground, it provides exactly what fans of the genre are looking for. It offers satisfying progression, enjoyable gameplay, and the rewarding feeling of becoming powerful in a short amount of time.
Not a bad game I guess, just not ready imo. PS gamepad does not work. UI has at least one small bug. Weapons aren't described, and most suck. Very grindy. But all in all I've seen a lot worse among the more popular and expensive BH offerings, like Letifer. (Such a disappointment.) Like this is an undercooked game between letifer and nimrods, with kind of a megabonk aesthetic. The gameplay itself is fine, very competent approach to the BH VS thing, but yea, i'd wait unless you really need a new BH entry.
Cool Game !
