This game makes me feel a touch conflicted. For the most part, this game is an extremely cute "cozy," farm sim game. Exploring the world feels very fun, and I was always pleasantly surprised to find little secrets and rewards around every corner. The actual ranching part is fun to, I loved expanding and upgrading my farm. The slimes are extremely cute as well. Where this game starts to fall off for me is the gameplay loop of ranching. There are at least a dozen different slimes that all have different needs, but most of those needs can be dealt with either with an upgrade to their pen or just keeping them well fed. For the few have challenges that could effect other slimes, the ranch is big enough that you could keep them pretty separated from the others. At the beginning of the game, managing the ranch is great, but as you grow the number of slimes you keep, it begins to be an endless cycle of maintenance. There was always slimes to feed, or food to harvest, or plorts to sell. Once you get deeper into the endgame, you can add some automation to the farm, but I was left wishing I could fully (or nearly fully) automate my ranch. Overall the game is great, and many people, including myself sometimes, love a game where you have infinite tasks to check off. I had a great time with this game, but likely will not be replaying it or spending much more time with it after getting all the achievements.
