Idle & Incremental Lovers doesn't recommend Slice to meet you: Way too sluggish and repetitive, and the idle gameplay is so slow that it's not really an option. Redemption comes from the absolutely fabulous music, 14 thematic radios with their own great tunes. + It's one of these games where you wanna write in the comments section "I really wanted to like it but...". Cause yes, the music makes you want to fall in love with it, and the animations are pretty satisfying. - This is slow. Like, awfully slow. I thought I could get around it with autoslice, but idling is 1000 times slower than already slow active play, and I have to pay my electricity bill at the end of the month. So I put a book on my left mouse button. THIS IS NOT CHEATING, GUYS! - First 10 minutes are fun, but you're gonna be doing the same exact thing for hours and hours. It quickly becomes boring. - Radios are the best feature in the game, but they're part of a set (with board, table, plate and line) giving bonuses to specific ingredients, so you sometimes have to choose a radio you don't really want to listen just to be more efficient. - Radios are unlocked with a special currency you gain by filling tasks, but you also want to use this currency to buy other things (board, table...) giving the specific bonus you want, so you have to choose between fun and efficiency. This is never a good choice, in any game. - No ending = No sense of completion = All that for that = What am I doing with my life? *I started cooking spaghetti. Just to pasta time.* Found this review helpful? Thought it was okay until I slowly started noticing it was heavily made with AI
Aesthetically the game is really satisfying, but the gameplay is beyond simplistic and the pacing grinds to a complete halt since, unlike most games in the genre, the game doesn't continue to introduce ways to speed up progression when the game slows down. You're left with extremely expensive upgrades that give 3-10% bonuses and very expensive knife upgrades that actually gives you a worse knife until you upgrade it even more. No joke going from a level 10 knife to a level 12 knife, which ultimately is a pretty small difference, literally takes 7 upgrades of exponentially increasing price. Of those 7 upgrades, 2 of those upgrades don't change the effectiveness at all, and 3 of them actually make it worse
The excellent timekiller. The best part of the game is... a music. Simple, different and good music. Gameplay is easy if you played something similar on a phone.
Fun game at a crazy low price, made by devs who immediately responded to player feedback and put out needed updates. Will definitely support their future releases.
Solid game - Devs and resolved every issue people have brought up.
It's the kind of game where the phrase "just one more plate" is followed by hours of chopping vegetables for a salad. I love it.
Concept is cool but the balance of progression is off and they need to add achievements
