All them hours I put into GTA online has led me to this moment!
다른 비행기 레이싱 게임들 중엔 컨트롤도 편하고, 그래픽도 깔끔하게 표현되어서 친구들끼리 하기엔 재미있었습니다.
It's like Blur, but mid air. It's a great neat game, flight controls are arcadey but responsive. blasting rival to smithereens is very satisfying.
Had this on the backlog for years, not sure why I bought it, it must have been dirt cheap or part of a bundle. Had to do some 1337 hacker stuff to get it to run at 60FPS. It's a fun game but there really only are three stages and the controls feel a but too unresponsive which makes it quite frustrating. Anyway, at least I played it, it was fun, would not recommend adding this to your backlog there are a lot better games to be played.
Skydrift 'Infinity' is the HD and local multiplayer updated version of this game. Both games have about 4 hours of single player content and half of the achievements require online play, which is dead. This game does not have local multiplayer, so if you want that, get 'Infinity'.
Still a little gem doing well after all those years. Reminds me of Slipstream 3000 on DOS. I'm having fun, all that matters at the end of the day.
I've been trying to play this ♥♥♥♥ game ever since I bought it in 2022, but it always crashes. I just give up.
SkyDrift is an arcade aerial racing game developed by Digital Reality and published by HandyGames that delivers a fast-paced blend of competitive racing and airborne combat. Rather than pursuing realistic flight simulation, the game embraces a highly accessible style that focuses on excitement, spectacle, and constant action. The concept is simple yet effective: race high-performance aircraft across exotic environments while collecting power-ups and using weapons to disrupt opponents. This combination creates a unique identity that separates SkyDrift from both traditional racing games and dedicated flight simulators. The game's biggest strength lies in how it merges racing and combat into a seamless experience. Players are not only concerned with maintaining the best racing line but also with defending themselves from incoming attacks and choosing the right moments to strike rivals. Missiles, machine guns, mines, and other offensive tools introduce an additional layer of strategy that keeps every race unpredictable. Even a comfortable lead can disappear in seconds if a well-placed attack lands at the wrong time. This constant tension gives races a sense of energy that rarely fades. SkyDrift offers several gameplay modes that help keep the experience fresh. The standard Power Race mode serves as the centerpiece, emphasizing both speed and combat. Speed Race removes weapons entirely and focuses on pure flying skill, rewarding players who can navigate courses efficiently and maintain momentum. Survivor mode introduces elimination mechanics, forcing racers to avoid falling behind as competitors are gradually removed from the event. These modes provide different ways to enjoy the game's core mechanics and ensure that the gameplay does not become overly repetitive. The aircraft roster contributes significantly to the game's appeal. A variety of planes can be unlocked through progression, each featuring different performance characteristics. Some aircraft prioritize raw speed, while others offer better handling or improved combat effectiveness. Although the controls remain approachable throughout, mastering each plane's strengths and weaknesses adds depth for players willing to invest time. The learning curve is gentle enough for newcomers, yet experienced players can still refine techniques to achieve better results. Visually, the game remains attractive thanks to its colorful environments and strong sense of speed. The courses are set in diverse locations filled with mountains, coastlines, islands, ancient ruins, and natural hazards. Flying low over water, weaving through tight rock formations, and discovering shortcuts creates a thrilling sense of movement. The environments are more than simple backgrounds, often containing obstacles and dynamic events that influence the flow of a race. The attention given to track design helps every location feel memorable and encourages repeated play. Another positive aspect is the game's focus on accessibility. Unlike simulation-focused flight games that require extensive knowledge of aircraft controls, SkyDrift allows players to jump directly into the action. The controls are responsive, intuitive, and designed to maximize enjoyment. This design philosophy makes the game appealing to a broad audience, including players who may not normally be interested in aviation-themed titles. The emphasis on fun over realism proves to be one of the game's smartest decisions. The multiplayer component elevates the experience even further. Competing against human opponents introduces a level of unpredictability that artificial intelligence cannot fully replicate. Close races often become intense battles where positioning, weapon timing, and route selection all matter equally. The combination of racing and combat shines brightest in multiplayer matches, creating memorable moments that showcase the game's strengths. Even years after release, this aspect remains one of the most compelling reasons to revisit the game. Despite its many strengths, SkyDrift is not without limitations. The overall amount of content is somewhat modest compared to larger racing franchises, and some players may wish for a more extensive career structure. Extended play sessions can reveal a degree of repetition, particularly after all aircraft and challenges have been unlocked. Players seeking a realistic aviation experience may also find the arcade-focused mechanics too simplistic. However, these issues do little to diminish the enjoyment provided by the game's core gameplay loop. What ultimately makes SkyDrift successful is its ability to deliver uncomplicated entertainment. It understands exactly what it wants to be and rarely strays from that vision. The combination of high-speed aerial racing, accessible controls, engaging combat mechanics, and beautiful environments results in a game that remains enjoyable long after its initial release. While it may not revolutionize either the racing or flight genres, it successfully combines elements from both to create an experience that feels distinctive and rewarding. SkyDrift is an entertaining and polished arcade air racer that excels through its blend of speed, combat, and visually appealing environments. Its approachable gameplay and exciting multiplayer make it a standout title for players looking for aerial action, even if its content offerings are somewhat limited compared to larger genre competitors. Rating: 8/10
Arcade adrenaline, its great to get your hearth pumping, but has its issues, I like it, fun in split-screen too. Shame the online comunity is dead, so not for achievement collectors.
This is a fun, relatively easy game where you can relax. It's one of my comfort games.
