Holy cow this game whips. Score-chase window-washing arcade game wrapped in a persona-lite life sim? Easily one of my favorite games of 2025.
SKYYYY the SCRAPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In the two hours that I played I was blown away by this game. Simple fun game play combined with some story(?) elements that made the game feel cohesive and put together. Bonus points for making a building washer look insanely bad ass for their cover art.
After talking to the developer in person, I decided to give this interesting concept a try and I actually really liked it. Sky the Scraper does a good job of implementing a "work-life balance" as a core gameplay feature. Relatable struggles like not wanting to go to work, facing financial problems, and trying to get enough sleep are integrated here as cool mechanics. The same goes for the work itself: while cleaning windows, you have to manage your combo, special "attacks," and stamina. All of that is quite clever, though I personally missed a bit more depth in the life-simulation aspect—such as more complex ways to pay bills or the consequences of lacking social interaction. Still, the system works well overall. One important thing to mention: After finishing the game, you can unlock a completely different scenario with new cleaning tools and a different skill tree (neuron connections), which adds good replay value. My only criticism is that you cannot choose a higher difficulty from the start. This makes the initial gameplay feel a bit too easy and monotonous once you’ve mastered the mechanics. Although there is a Hard Mode, it only unlocks after you beat a scenario. For me, playing the same scenario a second time just to get that challenge didn't feel interesting enough. Overall, I really like the game and its unique idea. Since it isn’t a very long experience anyway, I definitely recommend giving Sky the Scraper a try.
