"Sisters_Possession1" doesn't seem to have been made with the godawful blight on gaming that is the RPG Maker asset/construction kit... but it's almost completely indistingishable from an asset flip churned out with it. Instead, it's made with SRPG Studio, which is basically the same idea but considerably worse in quality, if such a thing is even possible.
The plot of this construction kit/asset flip isn't the same as most (most being fan-fictions all about the developers imaginary anime girlfriends). Instead, this relates the weird fantasy the developer has of transporting himself into a womans body so he himself can be his own imaginary anime girlfriend. Whatever. The author also expresses his fantasy of mentally controlling and sexually abusing women. Why is this kind of material permitted on Steam?
As a construction kit kitbash/asset flip, this doesn't contain much in the way of original game assets, it's just a bunch of pixelcrap assets from the construction kit combined with that all too common high school anime club dropout fan-fiction cringe writing.
These JRPG construction kits are pretty much all the same as far as gamers are concerned... low quality engine, pixelcrap "art" instead of anything remotely contemporary or professional, completely amateurish design and implementation... "Sisters_Possession1", like all the other JRPG construction kit asset flips, has no real value as a game for gamers at all.
The argument can be made that these construction kit toys are intended to let would-be developers learn something about real game design without having any skill, talent, or training, or to pass little demos around with friends. But what's happened here is someone got their hands on it and thought it was an "Ez-Mode" button to turn themselves into real game developers without having to do any of the real work or have any of the skill and talent that real developers need. The result is this disaster.
This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded [i]despite[/i] the bad graphics, not because of them.
Now on to pricing and value for gamers.
This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too.
In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at [b]only 7 concurrent players[/b]... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away.
Given that this free title won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library?
Not on a bet. This might be "free", but I still feel like I got ripped off.
