The UI feels very clunky. Menus have overlapping text and parts that aren't translated at all. The dialogue is translated but it is very rough and at points incomprehensible. The story from what I did understand was very weird and kinda scatterbrained.
possession is good
Played it for 9 hours and it has an amazing premise, pretty good animation (not fantastic, but serviceable), and some of the situations are really well thought out with the politics and gameplay situations. It's also a plus for being a Fire Emblem-like game. BUT... it's obviously not play tested enough. For one, each level has to be done in a pristine order with too little trial and error, so it's either do the map near perfectly or game over. The game also has terrible and obvious language translation errors, is riddled with bugs in the menu and coding, the game doesn't offer you enough weapons OR doesn't prepare you enough for some battles. I ended up quitting on chapter 11 because I ran into a permanent bug that prevented me from going onward. After all for this, awesome premise, but definitely has a large butt ton of poop it needs to clean up in its yard before it's properly playable to the passing player.

This is game is great albeit challenging. But that's for someone who has trouble with games similar to this like fire emblem. (I had my friend try a level I died on over 50 times and took me an hour, he completed it in 15 with 2 deaths with only a rough explanation of the characters and their abilities, he is an avid Fire Emblem player though) The story itself is kind of crazy but it is definitely original. There are some translation issues as well as some parts of the game just aren't translated at all. If you can get past some of the translation issues the dialogue is good. I do wish there was some sort of index in the game, or maybe even more explanation when it came to abilities, stats or even the menus. There are a lot of different characters to recruit, some are pretty straightforward while some are hidden extremely well. While there is a hidden chapter that gives a lot of good characters it is extremely difficult to achieve. (Literally a no death run for about 18 chapters) I still have yet to beat it despite restarting from the beginning and most likely restarting again as I want to do a no death run. (I will update my review once I complete it) I'm hoping that when I play the second game there will be improvements on these things. However, there is no official English translation yet for the game, which results in either google translate or just learning Japanese. All in all, this game is tough. But, also very rewarding when you clear a stage.
