Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion What an amazing game i mean i could not show you a better RTS game that has come out since the original supreme commander. i have reached the 200 hour mark and i always feel myself coming back because of mods and the 3 base game factions with 2 sub factions for each one make it diverse enough where every game feels different. I definitely recommend the EU4X mod it re-balances the entire base game and makes culture actuality balanced vs whatever the base game was. Its a must buy for those that enjoy RTS/Strategy games so pick up when its on sale or even buy it outright.
Would pay for multi-core support DLC. Otherwise perfect game. Unlike Sins 2.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Nothing like a good ol space RTS .. it's fun for sure and can get quite a time consuming .) Nuff said
One of the best space RTS games I've seen and personaly my favorite. Simple, with beautiful scenery and cool battles. I would also suggest playing with friends, it's way more fun.
One of the best Sci-Fi 4x/RTSes of all time. It even rivals StarCraft II. You have 6 balanced factions with unique and individual playstyles, and each faction is thematic and fun to play. The macro game and economy are easy to pick up and learn. The space battles are graphically gorgeous, with beautiful sound and music design as well. However, I have several gripes about Rebellion's game design, such as Trade Ports spawning drones infinitely which will lag your CPU out over time, and Mines, which are just an awful and tedious system. Nobody wants to play Minesweeper with the AI spamming 200+ Mines on every planet, which also lags the game. The sequel, Sins of a Solar Empire 2, is much more optimized, and graphically prettier. It also has a better endgame economy - Fleet Logistics no longer give a penalty to economy, and Rare Materials are added as a resource to build Capital Ships and Starbases. However, the balance isn't there yet in the sequel. Sometimes I wish Stardock remastered Rebellion with the updated SoaSE2 engine, without the Trade Drone spam and without Mines.
I rate this as an S-tier game.
Firstly, this game is a sandbox-style product so there is no campaign. If you like the RTS-♥♥♥-4X kind of game, then this is for you. And this is the first game in the Sins of a Solar Empire franchise. It is best to play this old game before playing the Sins of a Solar Empire 2.
Скучно. Высокий порог вхождения.
Great game
Love this game. One of the best 4X games you can buy not just for the solid core gameplay but also the extensive mods that cover anything from Star Trek to Mass Effect. Love this game.
