Do not start a clicker if it is a unity game. PowerCut = lost progress. All my prestiges reseted to 1, next level now cost 100k prestige. Hard reset at least possible, but not starting again from zero, weird, i had a good strategy to get 100% completion achievement legit, progressed well with prestige collection regarding my strategy, but not starting from zero again.
Simple Increment isn't really a proper game, it's just a lazy 2D browser/Flash-tier "number incrementer" game where the object of the game is to increase the in-game currency by clicking, and sometimes buying things that increase the rate at which your currency/score goes up. It's an incredibly shallow game loop, to the point you might as well just run a program that does "i=i+1; print i" and watch the numbers go up automatically, and just watch it. You'd get the exact same outcome. If this sounds completely mindless, you're not wrong. And, in a massive failure to comprehend the basic truth about gaming, it's a pure text only interface. I guess they missed the memo, but gaming is primarily a visual medium. That means it has to look good if it's going to compete for gamers attention. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game interface is just text boxes/dialogs and features no imagery at all, the kind of thing you expect to see in browser/HTML games from the 1990s. While that might be fine for the 1990s, gaming has evolved a lot since then, the ATI Rage became mainstream in 1996... it's 2024, and that kind of thing just won't fly anymore, it's just not visually up to scratch. For gameplay purposes, because the user interface for this game is mostly just 2D static text... it might as well be a web page. It's functionally no different from a browser game. And we all know, Steam isn't here to compete with Chrome and Firefox. If the game can be done in a web browser, it's just not rich or compelling enough to appeal to serious gamers on PC. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The game never really caught on with the millions of gamers on Steam, with a very low peak player count close to launch, and then just a handful of players launching this game every couple of days. This is undoubtedly caused by factors such as those raised in this review. It's always helpful with buying decisions to consider how popular and successful the product is, and unfortunately while this did accumulate a few participation trophy reviews, overall, people just aren't using it. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Simple Increment is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, including free to play idlers that are vastly superior to this.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Simple Incremental is a good game. Only just been released. Needs a little bit of work. But a really good start. Very promising. One of the biggest problems with developing a game like this, I would imagine, is trying to please all of the people all of the time, personally, one of the things I like most about incremental games (IE: Cookie Clicker) is the seemingly endless nature of it, while at the same time giving you a sense of progression. This game seems to have a very defined endpoint unless once you get to the end a new level appears. If this is the case, and I hope it is, I look forward to that. On the other hand, I am nowhere near finishing the game and I don't know how long it will take or if it can hold my attention. I think it will. So far so good. Balance and reward may need to be adjusted. I like the new generators but I think five at once for each level is too many. Progressively less as you invest more points maybe? Also, could you stack the generators on top of each other? There is a little bit of room at the bottom of the screen for two rows of generators when they go off the edge a little awkward to move them. (A minor inconvenience). You have improved the generators. It may be necessary to lessen the click earnings. Having said that, this is exceedingly difficult to judge. I would imagine a nightmare to program. I like the price reduction feature and the generator speed upgrade. Keep up the good work. Good game.
Simple, but fun. Clicking seems on the verge of OP, it's almost pointless to use the generators unless you're going to go AFK and want some extra PP. There might be a turning point eventually that makes them worth it due to upgrades, but not sure. The in-game high scores seem to be either bugged, or there's some sort of glitch that allows impossibly high scores. I'm guessing it's via autoclickers, but I haven't checked. I've been playing 2 days and have a score of 3.2k.. there's one person on there with almost 2 BILLION. And the game's only been out two days. Kind of a shame, as otherwise I'd be keen to grind for the top spot.
Simple but yet addictive. Just clicking, passive generators, bunch of upgrades and simple prestige system. You may buy it while it's on sale and spend evening or two with fun. This game doesn't claim to be something more.
This is a basic game with a clicker and idle component. The problem is that in the early going (at least 30-40 minutes that I've played so far), it's unbalanced and 100% clicker driven. Not much fun unless that balancing for the idle portion (generators) gets spiked.
pretty boring after like 30 minutes. starts off with lots of clicking then generators become better but there's no real point to playing. the prestige system is a little trash compared to others. it seems the only real way to complete the game is to prestige over and over and over instead of having longer runs. I just keep it open so number go up
I mean its cool... until you get to the REALLY grindy achievements... then it is no fun--no fun at all. I will leave the thumbs up for masochists and gluttons for punishment.
um idle/clicker bem legalzinho
