About
Reggie the vampire is dognapping puppies and must be stopped! As Van Helsing, embark on a journey around the world to rescue the pups: from haunted mansions and museums to ghoulish graveyards, each stage is packed with unique challenges to overcome and secrets to discover.
Man's Best Friend: Van Helsing's faithful hound Silver can be summoned during stages to attack enemies - and even drive vehicles?! Any baddies hit with Silver will drop delicious bonus items that boost your score, so make the most of your canine pal's help.

Unlock & Upgrade: Grab gold coins hidden in stages to buy power-ups that will aid you in your quest. Collect enough coins to unlock the extra puzzle game mode Terror Blocks! Bonus items collected, challenges completed and secret items uncovered all count towards your progress to unlock extra weapons, from a zombie shredding shotgun to the devastating rocket launcher!

Top Dog: Arcade Mode and Terror Blocks both have online leaderboards, allowing you to track your progress and compete for the best score. And for those who'd rather show off their skills live, the game's low memory footprint keeps streams silky smooth.

Control & Conquer: With game design based on "Cabal Shooters" like Wild Guns Reloaded, Silver Bullet has extensive control customisation. Play with modern twin stick aiming or classic single stick using a gamepad, go retro with an arcade stick or focus on precision with a keyboard and mouse.

Old-school Cool: With personality filled pixel art, customisable retro screen filters and spooky synth-pop bops from the legendary YM2612 chip, Silver Bullet looks and sounds like a long-lost 16-bit classic.

Fantastic crosshair shooter mixed with some Donkey Kong 3 style gameplay is the best way I can describe this game. Really addictive and fun mechanics with the accuracy and score system.
Had a great time trying to 1cc this game and then get on the leaderboards! Runs are basically divided into two parts: the first half when you're trying to get your accuracy maxed and the second half when you're trying to hit as many high value special shots as possible. Gobbling up that first mega value item chain each run is so satisfying! It's a really fun game flow and there's always something you feel like you could try next time you play. The level variety is quite impressive. I should mention that I also enjoy the unlockable puzzle mode, Terror Blocks, and actually spent quite a bit of time trying to get a juicy score in that one. Might be the only crosshair shooter/Tetris mashup in existence? Definitely a concept worth some more exploration, in any case. The twinstick controls took a little bit of time to get used to, because I expected the right stick to always control the crosshair and the left stick to always control the character. However, when you're shooting, your character will stop moving and the left stick will start to control the crosshair, as well. I think this is to accommodate a single stick (arcade) control scheme. The game is lenient enough for all the control schemes to be viable, but it's worth noting that they are not all equal imo. Mouse and keyboard is probably strongest, followed by twinstick, and I found my Xbox gamepad's sticks to be more comfortable and responsive than Steam Deck's.
Wspomniany pierwszy jakoś zabierał mi dużo życia, nawet jeśli docierałem do niego bez utraty życia i z wykupionymi dodatkowymi... Bywa.
Adorable and fun retro-style shooting gallery game with elements of rail shooter and collect-a-thon old arcade games. Simple to play but hard to master, like all the good score-oriented games of this kind. Pros: + Very nice pixel art that is faithful to the old school, bringing all kinds of goofy monsters, happy doggies and juicy food items to yourscreen. + The chiptunes are quite good too in recreating the "spooky" carnival atmosphere. + Precise controls. + All the various chimes and graphic elements (special shot activated, enemy approaching, Van Helsing's hitbox, secret enemies appearing etc.) do their job and alert you immediately to what it's happening, so you can concentrate better on improving your aim. + The secondary score mode is useful for training, so you can retry hard stages as much as you want or improve scoring strategies in bonus stages. Cons: - Starting from scratch every time becomes tedious after a while (but, as this is an arcade-style experience where only score matters, it probably can't be helped). - If you don't have an arcade stick it's probably better to play it with mouse and keyboard, since playing it with a controller feels a bit impractical. - The punishment for losing a life seems a bit harsh and the game expects you to play perfectly and never make any mistakes (then again, doing a little better every time is also kind of the point). If you like a good arcade-style challenge that feels like it comes straight from the 1980s/1990s, this is the game for you!
It's delightful.
Extremely impressive Wild Guns style cabal shooter, great level design variety and very elegant overlap of all of its systems. Scoring is addictive - similar to shmups where you are generating items to collect by killing targets, but having to actively continue to dodge enemy fire to pick them up adds a lot to the tension. I did the bulk of my playing up until this point on the Steam Deck, and it makes for a great handheld game, comfortable controls and really solid bite-sized sessions.
A very enjoyable game!
Solid. Very arcadey.
I got this game in a recent bundle but I would recommend buying this at the asking price. It’s a super fun arcade shooter that rewards accuracy, is fun to play and has a nice graphic style. Had it not been for that game bundle I don’t think I would have even come across this game! It definitely deserves more love especially at its price.
Silver Bullet feels like a homage to arcade shooting games of yesteryear but has enough swagger and design to niche itself out and feel special. The music is sublime, the sprites are eye candy. The game is simply fun. The controls take some getting used to, or at least some tinkering with. However, the game gives you a couple controller layouts to see which one you like. Runs feel fast and hectic. A perfect game for the Steam Deck - in which the game ran flawlessly. I picked up a key for Silver Bullet in a Fanatical bundle for $1.15 and am very happy with my purchase at that price.
