PLEASE TRY THE DEMO BEFORE YOU BUY IT. SHORT: I CANNOT reccommend this game, cause of 2 major reasons: 1) Unfinished, yet not sold as Early Access 2) High Price Tag. The game has the production quality of a free game, this should not be a paid steam release. (Opinion) LONG: It's an Unfinished, Unpolished, Rushed Alpha/Prototype version sold as a full release with an insane price tag. This is AAA level behavior that is simply not acceptable. The game design has a unique creative foundation, and it is thoughtout but it's a lotus in a mud pool; there was no need to rush this. I discovered the game through the developer's devlogs, and I was very impressed by his design ideas and insights... it was even educational so I had more confidence in the dev than the game. I bought the game just to support him, and truly wanted to recommend this further but sadly the game quality was quite disappointing to say the least. I've outlined the glaring flaw so let's move on to the amazing game hiding underneath. I'll list out the flaws that I remember in the end. 1) There's Decent Voice Acting, which I didn't expect however it seems to be used as a subsitute for good tutorial design. 2) The atmosphere is spot on, and the sound design is pretty great; especially when the night level begins. 3) There are some interesting immersion mechanics in the game, like the day chores. The game has a lot of potential if these mechanics were worked into the gameplay more instead of required to-do tasks. It would give more agency to the player. 4) There are parts of the gameplay where a lot of care has being put, it has these highs and lows. A really rough product. 5) Unique Gameloop and mechanics 1) The game is unbelievably unpolished, to the degree that you would expect from a free robolox title. The menus, settings (barely any) are like straight out of a youtube tutorial. 2) Speaking of Tutorials, there are none unless you like to read explaination of mechanics from the pause menu. 3) Speaking of Pause menu, it doesn't work all the time. I couldn't quit out of the game during a night level. 4) Sorta part of (1) but the UI/UX is so bad along with in-game interaction systems that I have to mention this again. Being a first game, doesn't resolve a dev from selling pure sloppiness to the end user. 5) There are different types of enemies that require different interactions, eg: One is scared of flashlight, other is angered by it. HOWEVER, the game gives you no clues as to which is which apart from a voice line from your character telling you that you angered the monster. BUT how do you tell them apart? They look the same. I don't know if it's the darkness or if it's meant to be a game mechanic to cause confusion. I assumed that, so I thought I need to flash them only when they start attacking otherwise keep hiding. Didn't work because they attack instantly, either they roam or they instant kill you. 6) The game tries to put you off by simulating a schizo effect, spawning the monster in the distance and despawning when you notice it... except this happens everytime and quite abruptly, breaking the immersion. 7) KEYBINDS! Someone please run this game through a QA session... these keybinds were horrible and acted as an impedence to the gameplay. x) I've skipped stuff like the phone/axe etc floating in the air, no character model, conflicting artstyles, bad textures, etc because this is a solo project and a first release but I honestly don't think that excuses the other flaws given the game's marketing. A paid steam release should be high quality. TL;DR - misleading release, rushed, unpolished and too expensive of a price tag ruins an otherwise decent game concept. I won't be this disappointed if it was clearly marketed as Early Access with a roadmap OR under $3 OR on itch io. Writing this huge review because I really had high hopes with this solo dev and I hope the future projects aren't like this.

Wow this game is hauntingly beautiful. The day looks so pretty, but you never know if you are being watching by something. I can barely handle the stress of the night time too 😂
The first expression of the game was really good. I waited for this game since i saw the "How i Accidentally Made the Day Scarier Than The Night In My Game" video from YouTube and played Demo. The good things that stayed the same to me after release version are...
Unique Atmosphere
The style of PS1 games surely bells the ring to me. The changing of day and night looks amazing. I almost feel these sun rays through on my skin during early morning and late evening. The mist is... controversial. I have really blurry memories on that, but i think the mist was better in the demo - it wasn't so bright that my eyes hurt. Except for that, the mist doing its part of making the day terrifying. Though the "stuff" going on in the woods is disappointing. Here are lesser spoilers:
The horned creature is just running towards you, much less frequently than in the demo. The other time, the creature kind of pushes you and disappears. It would be cool to see other creatures with their own unique behavior.
The night is the best part of the game. It has some similarities with the FNAF mechanics, but it has an absolutely different vibe. I played a lot of other horror games and got desensitized to them, but the night in this game reminded me what FEAR is. The heavy breathing of the MC, the background noises of the forest, and the noises of creatures are a big part of the immersion. The distance, the animations of creatures walking slowly or sometimes running around your house make you really uncomfortable. The distraction it brings makes you forget about the unique mechanics of dealing with every type of creature, so it makes you panic. Here is another spoiler:
The difficulty changes qualitatively, not quantitatively. Every creature ads its own unique little mechanic, which makes you distracted even more. Buuut... It's a shame, there is only 1 "stationary" and 4 moving creatures. As the main plot goes, you expect at least 3 more creatures before the ingame week ends.

The plot. Well... It exists...
I can't really be sure if the plot was made ironically or not. It's bad, but a bit hilarious. Spoilers ahead.
Everything comes down to the main villain guy using technology to use some mystic ancient power to heal his wife and make her live forever or something. Oookay, but this kind of plot could be much better. The creatures are basically chimeras of man and animal, filled with green magic soup, and they are failed attempts at making the wife of a villain guy immortal. And the sister of the main protagonist was kept in a cell, probably already having her dose of this green stuff, if I see the "good" ending in the right spot, because these green lights in both endings - the eyes of an evil entity trapped in a green soup. And it looks like in both endings it gets released, but in different bodies. That's a bit too straight up. The plot could be much more mystical and occult, especially when it comes to the origin of the creatures, and them having their own story and motivations, not some random rich guy behind the glass wall with the voice of Emperor Palpatine from SW, which is the most hilarious part of the game. Especially, then he shoots himself instead of trying to revenge the MC for breaking his plans.

Minor technical and gameplay issues.
So... The scripts aren't working correctly. On the third night, the dialogues and ability to go to sleep are just stuck, so you have to go to the forest camera to times to make it work. Sometimes, the door doesn't open, and i can't interact with the axe after the fishing. The food — what you're supposed to eat every day—doesn't deplits. Wasn't it working as it was supposed to in the demo, or was it just switched off? The fishing, the cutting wood and the cleaning windows were made pretty good, i liked this routine and the style of interaction. But it seems like there were plans for charging the phone?
The hope of meeting true potential.
The game has a huge potential both in gameplay and in plot. More story and gameplay variety behind the creatures, a less straightforward main plot on one hand, and more nuance to survival in day and nighttime can make this game brilliant to me.
My verdict and a wish.
The game doesn't have replayability to me, even though there is "Mike's Night" mode. It gives an astonishing first impression and then leaves you disappointed. But! I judge from a very high bar perspective. Because i can't quite believe such a cool game is made in solo, as a little indie-dev myself (not anymore for some time, sadly). It's wonderful, and i hope we will see a sequel with a different plot and with deeper gameplay.
Excellent game. 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Spooky
This game has great jump scares plus a really creepy atmosphere day & night due to the lighting and the sounds I was always on edge, having to look around & keep my eyes open through the whole play through. Great use of creepy notes around the cabin to hint at how to beat the creatures. Also I like ranger mikes voice hahaha. another thing ill add is that the game is very pretty and runs super smooth. If youre looking for a fun, scary but also with a bit of challenge this is the game to play! plus there are 2 endings so ill have to come back & get the second ending. 7/10 for this game.
Tried this game out, for a solo project its really well made from what i played so far a few unique mechanics you don't see often in newer games cant wait to see what becomes of this in later patches, i will continue to play this as i do enjoy horror games quite a bit a few times i got spooked Keep up the good work also side note the voice acting is actually really good as well it doesn't seem out of place or scattered like some other indie/solo projects Props to the Dev on this one
fun game with interesting story. excellent first game from this new dev
Before the first night i was already scared. If your into indie games and horror games definitely pick this one up.
It is hard for me to recommend this but I will since its the dev first game and it is interesting as long as you don't expect anything revolutionary and enjoy indie projects. main problem I feel like i cant understand why I get attacked at night and why I don't, I didn't see a explanation to why or why not to shine the light at all times and when not too. The game was interesting for the right person but I don't think it is for me. I enjoyed the graphics of the game and find it pretty but do understand why a lot of people may be turned off by them. For 15 dollars, that is extremely steep, for the 75% off, so just below $4, I think it could be worth your time as long as you don't have high expectations and love indie projects.
Some unique game mechanics. This is why I love indie games, Not afraid to try something new! Some of us older gamers feel the nostalgia of the PS1 era graphics while those who enjoy a suspenseful game like FNAF will find a home here. I hope this to be the first of a longer game series. <3 Full disclaimer i'm only on night two and ♥♥♥♥ scared :(
