You play as a man called Jacob Reeves. A man who has lost his reason to live. He throws himself into a blackness to end his misery, but instead of it being the end he wakes up without a memory of his life before.

It's been a long time since I played this, so long that I had to refresh myself through some videos. I think that visually it still stands as almost impeccable, with those detailed, surreal backgrounds and characters portrayed as silhouettes. Some animations look like retouched video footage, as detailed and fluid as they are. It is surely clunky to play and can feel way too slow at times, but it has its moments and shows all the talent of the developer, who would go on to make more games.

Unfortunately, can't recommend.... the game doesn't support modern resolutions and it tells you to change your screen refresh rate to 60hz for it to run properly. Controls are clunky.
I wanted to like this game but sadly the clunky controls and lack of saving points made quit very early on in the game
TOTALMENTE RECOMENDADO!!
Silence of the Sleep is a dark, story-driven adventure that follows a troubled man descending through a surreal, nightmarish world shaped by grief and self-reflection. The game leans heavily into symbolism, using strange environments and unsettling encounters to tell its story. What stood out to me is how deeply psychological it feels. The atmosphere is oppressive, the themes are heavy, and the narrative explores guilt, despair, and inner conflict in a very raw way. Gameplay is simple, almost secondary, but it fits the experience — playing it feels like moving through someone’s fractured mind. It’s disturbing, emotional, and best suited for players who appreciate introspective horror with strong narrative meaning.
What can I say about Silence of the Sleep? The visuals are OK, even if the art style often makes it hard to see items of interest. Some of the sounds can make your ears bleed if you do not turn down the volume. The gameplay is slow and tedious and relies too much on backtracking. Sections with monsters are by far the most interesting and have a survivor horror feel to them, but are let down by clunky controls. Sections without monsters are dull as molasses, with the hospital chapter the worst offender. It easily makes up half the play time while giving the player absolutely nothing to do other then run around, completing pointless chores and solving meaningless puzzles. And the ending is so laughably cheesy, I wish the game just completed the loop and spit me right back at the start.
