Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
10 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.29/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
This version got too tricky for its own good. The map generator is very inconsistent with the placement of "critical resources" needed to build the units that your technologies grant you. So you can end up in the industrial age and you're still building Pikemen as your mainstay military unit, and Galleons as your only ship. The original Civ remains the best for the original vision of the game, with Civ II a nice update. Later versions of Civ add a lot of other things that make them really a different kind of game than the early Civs. Civ III is really neither fish nor fowl.
I remember liking Civ II very much, and playing it for hours. Then trying Civ III and not caring for it. After years of playing Civ IV I figured I would give this one a try, but it really was as bad as I remember. Oh well. $3 for nostalgia trip.

it's better than other civ games, simpler but also hard and difficult to master.
there is a reason I hate playing Civilization without cheat codes. The AI is is too quick. I cant even manufacture a Gallon and they pull up with 6. If i could down load this game my codes would work. being slaughtered is not fun. no matter what your settings are, you will loose. if you enjoy being out played this is your game..
I demand a refund. It doesn't run and messes up the display settings constantly.
Really good retro version of the Civ series. Could use more of a tutorial for new players, but still alot of fun.
Oldie but still fun.
2026 y sigue dando horas y horas de diversión. OBRA MAESTRA.
Civ3 is a classic. Yes, it was launched more than 20 years ago. Yes, it requires adjusting your screen resolution. But it includes key elements of the 4X genre in engaging ways. The mechanics are streamlined, movement of troops is much easier than some later games in the franchise (Civ5, Civ6, Civ7). All terrain types on land may be improved. The AI players can mount a credible military threat to the human player, especially at higher difficulties.
