I guess I like doing psychic damage to myself.
If I had spend my time writing assembly instead of SIC-1, I would have built another roller coaster tycoon for real
I cannot understand why is this game free lol. It is a great puzzle for even those who had decent experience with assembly language. Def. worth checking out!

I enjoyed this game, but I cannot recommend it to other players, because it is very very niche. This game tries to answer the question: what is the minimal assembly language? So ask yourself, do you want to write assembly language? I guess the answer is no. If you do, would you want to use a minimal assembly language? Surely you don't. If you do, is you did want to use a minimal assembly language, is this the one you would use? Also no. This game is a Zach-like. If you don't know what that is, you should go play any game by Zachtronics before you try this game. If you do, then you might be interested in this game, but you should play any other Zach-likes first. If you're out of Zach-likes to try, maybe try this one. The other kind of person that might like this kind of game is a programming language enthusiast. If you've actually enjoyed writing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ programs, then you might like this game! I will say that the polish of the game is adequate. I could suggest some improvements, but there aren't any features that I find unduly lacking. Also, there's a story; I like games with a story, and you probably do too.
Assembly programming game with a simple twist - you can only use one instruction. Later tasks would be challenging even for experienced low-level developers. Fun, mind-bending towards the end.
best programming game ever! simple, intuitive, infinite potential (it's an assembler after all) disadvantages: 1) None of my friends play this game. My leaderboard is empty :( 2) No modding api
SIC-1 offers an enjoyable challenge for fans of minimalist puzzle and programming games, with its single-instruction programming system that requires careful optimization and logic. While the game presents a satisfying sense of progression and accomplishment, it often feels a bit too easy. The lack of a true "hard mode" means the experience can become repetitive, especially for players who enjoy a tougher challenge. Small UI improvements, like better space management for text and easier navigation of the interface, would also enhance the experience. That said, the game's style, humor, and retro aesthetic provide a charming backdrop for its tasks, and the overall gameplay is deeply satisfying for those looking for a thoughtful, if occasionally light, puzzle experience.
It's a Zachlike. It's a definite "If you like this sort of thing,, then..." game, where you write programs for a fictional processor that only has a single instruction. It's got a pretty good backstory too -- and, most importantly, there's a frustrating minigame to help distract you.
Might be one of the best Games I have played. You really learn throw the process. From Zero understanding of what is going on to searching places where to Optimize yours already existing Code. Super Game - big Thanks to THE CREATORS !
