Shütshimi is a randomized shoot'em up about a muscle-bound fish with memory problems defending the seven seas. Defeat or navigate through waves of enemies, collecting new upgrades every 10 seconds that change up the gameplay as you battle your way through each of the game's bosses.
Shutshimi is all about being right fish in the right place. Avoid bullets, visit the shop, shoot underwater creatures. Rinse and repeat. Waves are about 10 seconds long after that you gain opportunity to grab something real quick from the shop. Game plays well and controls are good. Soundtrack is ok but starts to irritate your ears after some time. Might get boring as there is not much to do except 10 second bursts of shooting. Visuals are basic pretty much. Ok game but needs more polish except the visual side.
This is not a conventional shoot 'em up, and I'm not talking about the art style. You play a very short wave, around 10 seconds, with a bunch of enemies rushing you. You shoot them down... or not. Then you're in a 10-second upgrade screen with three choices. It's designed to keep things moving fast, but I hated being rushed into reading and making my choice. Power-ups could be for one wave or the rest of the game (unless you choose another). Some of them are just for "giggles". So 10-second short wave, 10-second upgrade window, rinse and repeat. Very few enemies. Backgrounds are boring. Only three bosses including one much tougher and unfair than the rest. There's just very little to the game and it didn't keep my interest.

Shutshimi is a game for real men who have what it takes to protect their homes from the terrors of the ocean! It’s a randomized shoot ‘em up game that heavily relies on RNG which can also lead to frustration when it comes to hunting achievements, but since each wave takes about 10 seconds long, it’s not that bad, I guess. At the end of each wave, you get to a shop and are presented with 3 different items with bizarre descriptions that give not-so-useful information about the item you’re about to get for the next wave. Different guns, extra fish, and the fishbowl last until they’re gone, but the rest of the items last for a single wave only. You technically have 3 unique bosses and 3 more with their variants and after that, the game ends and you are rewarded with Victory Laps that go on and on. Apart from the normal game mode, you have a baby mode that has only 2 bosses and no real rewards, Boss Rush, and a game mode that is much more difficult and gives you one chance throughout the whole run. You can also play co-op and it’s quite fun! If you’re after the achievements, all of them can be completed rather quickly, but 3 of them can be quite frustrating due to their reliance on RNG. However, if you’re aiming to get all hats and in-game achievements, then start worshipping the RNG God because you won’t get them hats without his help! I temporarily converted to his religion to fulfill my end goal… and it was worth it!
TL;DR
A very fun and small randomized shoot 'em up game that relies a bit too much on RNG, but can be quite fun if you’re playing co-op with friends!
A masterpiece, one of the best games on steam. This game is art that puts games like undertale and omori to shame with its storytelling. Godspeed Neon Deity Games
Maybe it's only for the Schmup fans out there. Random alterations has it's amusement, but sometimes you do get a bad roll. Not sure if the in-between-level shop has just pure flavour text, in anycase the timer makes it so there's not enough time to read the options.
this is a funny and weird shmup. was fun to play. despite the randomness, it still is somewhat repetitive. i have not 100% the game nor will i attempt to. there are in game achievements in addition to the steam cheevs. i (somehow) managed to get the steam cheevs so that is good enough for me. i guess i do recommend, if you're looking for a quick game play to pass the time
Pretty smart game, with a very good sense of humour, and a sort of perks-driven progression that is a lot of fun. Each playthrough is gonna change quite a lot depending on the upgrades you pick. Again, the Shooting Ships bundle delivers!
