About
The journey ahead is grim, and it's waiting for you...
Shrine Of The Forest God is a passion project developed solo based on the inspiration of simplistic art styles and environmental storytelling. Landed in a mysterious world, you must make your way to gain abilities, discover secrets, solve mysteries, and fight your way up to face the powerful being that awaits at the top of the mountain in this short, open-world adventure.
Set your resting place wherever you go!
Stand in an open space and when prompted, you can move the checkpoint wherever you are. Entering this spot would also completely heal you and revive downed companions.
Slash, shoot, and fight your way through the enemies that stand in your way.
Find weapons that aid you on the way, including a quick gun to shoot at a range or a deflector that will shield you from oncoming threats!
The world of Shrine of the Forest God is very interpretational, as you find out what happened around you based on what visuals you see around you.
This includes the language that several characters would speak throughout the game.
With little dialogue, you'll find clues and hints based on what these visuals show.
Explore a vast and open world and learn what happened on this mysterious mountain...

The game is quite good. The atmosphere is mysterious, the visual style is fire. The fight is cool, it's a pleasure to cut down enemies. The visual narrative is also impressive, there are a lot of emotions without words. Exploring the world is interesting, you will learn a lot of new things.
Oh, I liked it! Imagine stepping into a myth, a legend so ancient it doesn't care whether you understand it or not. That's the energy this game radiates. "Shrine Of The Forest God" is eerie, it's isolating, and it never needs cheap tricks to unsettle you it just exists, and that's more than enough.
The game captivates with its atmosphere and mysteries. A short but intriguing adventure in a mysterious world.
A nice atmospheric platformer that plays to its strengths. Trippy environments with a cohesive artstyle and purely visual storytelling invite curiosity throughout the game. The sick music keeps the high points high and the laid back exploration chill. Definitely a promising debut with a lot of heart from the dev. Hope to see more in the future.
Nothing about this world feels random. Every ruin, every broken pathway seems to hint at something bigger, something lost to time. This game doesn't just play with mystery it makes you feel it. The weight of the unknown, the quiet that stretches too long, the creeping realization that you’re out of place. It lingers in your mind long after you stop playing.
The game's pacing is brilliant it lures you in with its beautiful, haunting environments, then traps you in a web of curiosity. Every sound, every whisper of wind through the trees feels intentional. The deeper you go, the more the game refuses to let you leave.
Very good game to lose yourself in, this was a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There were multiple times throughout play where I would hang out with the NPCs for a bit and chill listening to the soundtrack. Reminds me of the days playing Spyro just running around the levels looking for secrets. I can't wait to see more!
This isn't your typical "walk around and look at spooky things" kind of game. The world breathes, it remembers, and it makes sure you never feel fully alone. You start with nothing no clear path, no obvious clues, just an overwhelming silence that dares you to move forward. Every step uncovers fragments of a truth that was never meant to be disturbed.
This game offers a truly captivating experience for those who enjoy immersive worlds filled with discovery and challenge. From the moment you start, you're thrust into a dense, sprawling environment, rich with hidden secrets and formidable enemies. The thrill of exploration is perfectly balanced with the tension of combat as you fight your way through a variety of environments, each more dangerous and mysterious than the last. The concept of taking your checkpoint with you adds an intriguing layer of strategy, forcing you to plan your every move and making each decision count. As you progress, unlocking new abilities feels incredibly rewarding, allowing you to overcome tougher challenges and uncover more of the world’s secrets. The centerpiece of your journey—the looming threat of the Forest God—creates an epic goal, and the journey to face this mighty creature is packed with tension, discovery, and a sense of growth. The visuals are stunning, the world-building is immersive, and has some unique storytelling. The challenge is steep, but for those with the patience to rise to it, it’s an unforgettable adventure. If you love games that reward exploration and strategy while keeping you on the edge of your seat, this one is definitely worth your time.
