Shoot The Wall

Are you curious? A bit nosy? Just don't like to be left out of things? Well then, you're going to have to shoot your way through that wall to find out what's behind it and where those mysterious voices are coming from. Who is telling you not to shoot the wall? To be honest, telling someone not to do something is encouragement enough to do it, plus it would be a short and boring game if you didn't. There's a story mode, sandbox mode, and a time trial mode with leader board to work through, and a selection of weapons and upgrades to help destroy the wall faster. It's funny how the simplest of things can prove to be so entertaining. Maybe, you like cleaning games, or clicking items endlessly, and now you can shoot at a wall to satisfy your destructive needs. This game probably will appeal to those that like repetition but there is more to this game than just mindless shooting. It actually has a genuinely funny story with tongue in cheek humour that immediately declares that this game is going to be silly and entertaining. The mechanics of the game are sound too with satisfying gun sounds and a feeling of destruction as those damage counters fly out towards you. Having five different weapons with upgrades is nice and there's a feeling of progression as you start off slowly with your pathetic pistol and eventually upgrade to a submachine gun providing maximum carnage. Buried within the wall are gold bricks which when shot provide money for you to spend on weapons and upgrades in the shop, and green bricks which provide ammo drops. Sometimes, it is prudent to stop the Rambo in you and pick out these blocks with controlled bursts, otherwise you could miss them. The ammo blocks are particularly useful because they replenish some of your ammo and stop you having to walk all the way back to the start where the shop is. The walls can be quite thick and long, commonly taking at least fifteen minutes to get through, and as you progress you have to find the correct route, because there are dead ends. This means going back to the start is a pain and I did wonder whether it would be better if the shop could be accessed on the fly, but as I became more selective with my aiming, I didn't have to return to the shop at all. The story mode provides four walls which get progressively larger and more difficult to get through but you won't have any problems actually getting through. The time trial mode provides a challenge if you want to compete on the leader board and see how fast you can do it, but otherwise it is very relaxed and you can take as much time as you want. The story mode takes around two hours to complete. My PC did get very hot when playing this game and frame rates were much higher than my refresh rate so options to cap that would be appreciated but other than that there were no bugs or issues. Shoot The Wall is a good, worthwhile implementation of a simple premise, with a narrow scope. + Worthwhile story, interesting discovery + Voiced * Decent progression * Shoot blocks to gain money for the shop and XP for buyable upgrade unlocks * Two special types of blocks I can't say how long the story mode took. I followed it with an endless mode to unlock and try out everything. The story mode length can be considered short, but long enough. For a small title such as this, I found it good and with a short story, lengthy enough.

This review would be a meh if Steam allowed such ratings. You start off with a gun, and shoot a wall. Real simple. You get money for shooting the wall to upgrade your gun, until you are doing crazy large numbers of damage, with bullets going everywhere. It's all quite fun. I enjoyed it. That was less than an hour of content though. Levels two to four where the same thing. Just a tiny bit of added story. Still fun, because I enjoyed it the first time. But nothing new, or exciting. I had the whole game beat in less than three hours. I got almost all the achievements just going through the story. But then the last one, I had to run in a circle for an hour. Very unfun. Why do these games always have to add an achievement like that? To pad runtime?

Carple Tunnel Simulator 2000 Shoot the Wall is a small, and very simple, incremental game that tasks you with blowing your way through a massive wall, for some reason. As you shoot the bricks, you'll earn experience and money, and you'll slowly unlock better guns and upgrade them to blast through the wall faster and faster. The only motivation for this is the story, which exists, but I can't say much more about it than that. This isn't the kind of game you play because you want some grand adventure, great story, or immersive gameplay. You play this game because you like to do mindless repetitive tasks while doing something else. This game is GREAT for that, but I recommend against playing through the whole game in one go, because my wrist hurts after clicking for so long. You can aleviate this problem somewhat by purchasing the automatic weapons, but they aren't quite as cathartic. For the price, this is a solid incremental game; but you have to know what you're getting into. This is a mindless game for just wasting some time while you're doing something else. If that's what you want, it's a fun little cheap game. If you want more than that, don't bother.

I was so intent on upgrading everything, but I never made it. 3 weapons were my max. It was the game I needed to just mindlessly do something to get away from everyday life and it was fun! Senseless fun! and it's just a wall! So, no shooting at people or anything- crazy. You just shoot a wall and upgrade your weapons so that they become ridiculously powerful (like the pistol fgs!) although my fav weapon was the shotgun ❤️) The story is ridiculous yet funny - but even better- it's that it has an actual story! It even has replayability with the sandbox mode and trials. This game is insane in all the good ways. Now, for every great game, there's always a "but". So, here's the "but" *giggle*: Crashes and glitches. Through the 4 part story my game crashed 6 times. I honestly enjoyed it so much it didn't bother me, but it was slightly upsetting to lose all the progress (especially the first time, since it doesn't auto save) and all the ammo I hoarded. Sometimes I would lose all the money I had as well. Sometimes it would show $0 then as I picked up money it would go back to my previous amount but that only happened 2 times (out of seven 😔) Sometimes the walls glitched, especially in chapter 3 [spoiler] the maze [/spoiler]. Like a lot of glitching. As I said above, this honestly didn't deter me that much because I was saving often after losing everything on my first run after the crash, that's when I noticed -no auto save-. That one would've been nice maybe after purchasing upgrades, or a checkpoint, but honestly not needed. What I would suggest (if it's still getting support) is somewhere a notification that you NEED to manually save. If there is one, I did not see it anywhere. Yet again, best mindless fun game I;ve played in ages. The best part, not even all the great things I mentioned. It cost me $.60 USD. 60 cents. Nothing. and it gave me hours of entertainment (8.5 hours to be exact) and a very easy game to achievement hunt (except for the walking one, dang). As of this moment, Steam has it on sale at $1.99 USD, but Fanatical has a bundle with some amazing indie games including this one that I would highly recommend (thus the 60 cent). Great work. If not, you share the name with a badass voice actor. Don't pass. You won't regret it. I absolutely would've paid the $1.99 USD easily. (Maybe even the $5!) Hahaha, okay. Well, so this is almost like an incremental FPS. There are no enemies or anything...you're doing exactly what the game says, and shooting a wall. Destroying the blocks gives money and ammo, which you can use to upgrade your weapons to go faster. The game is a bit wonky (I ran across a couple of bugs here and there), but isn't a hard game. The last achievement, for running around a certain distance, probably took longer than me completing the game itself. I'm not 100% sure this is really a $5 game, but getting it on sale just for a fun little zone out experience isn't a bad buy.

you shoot a wall and get money to get guns to shoot more. that's about it. wish there was more here. i got it in a bundle and i don't even really think it was worth that.
