Very fun game. The classic Zelda inspirations are clear and all the designs and references to past streams from Cecilia Immergreen (the titular automaton) and other Hololive girls really add an extra special touch to this. I experienced some difficulties with the enemies hitbox, but that may be a skill issue on my part. Recommend for Holofans and also for people who enjoy 2D zeldas.
Extremely enjoyable game, and interesting story. well worth the price. Portrayals are lovely, items are fun and variety to them. If you enjoy these kinds of games this is going to be a good purchase. The only real critique I have is that it doesn't follow some of the more standard paradigms for this type of game. For me, these were the points of frustration as it causes game difficulty that isn't from the game itself, its just from movement/angle difficulty interactions. Specifically, your character moves 8 directions freely-but you can only strike in the cardinal directions. Which results often in moving or dodging freely but unable to attack or activate something at an angle-which the schema implies you would. Typically you would either have all move only cardinals, or all free forms, with the attack angles following suit to the same. The mixture creates some difficulty curve that isn't the game's difficulty. Cecilia also when moving at an angle still only faces a cardinal direction which also causes the disconnect mentioned here. Additional is that the lance attack does not come from the middle of the sprite, it comes from where her right hand would be. Which means you cannot simply line up normally to hit an opponent, you have to angle for the lance not your sprite itself. This, paired with only attacking in the cardinal directions while moving freely results in some control difficulty and issues of moving to hit something but the lance being too low despite the enemy feeling very much in your face. Because you lined up slightly off center in the wrong direction. I think it might be worth considering moving that hit box to directly in front of CC. Some of that is fixed with the upgrades of course, but her lovely lance is her standard the early game bird mascot is pretty good example of the problems from the two issues I mentioned. They'll attack at an angle and you cannot melee at an angle with the lance. So you have to try and line up cardinal direction to strike on the right arm of cecilia, so they fly into the attack. Easiest early example of the situation I'm mentioning To reiterate though, I do recommend this game. I just believe those small points are worth pointing out as some folks that might be a frustration point. edit: controller playing
An amazingly well made classic top-down action adventure for everyone, regardless of whether they're a Hololive fan or not. 9/10 as a fan game, and still a solid 8/10 for everyone else. First of all, this game has the perfect pacing and the perfect length - about 10 hours for a casual 100% completion. This 10-hour gameplay is filled with fresh, captivating content and constant progression, and is ended at the right moment without overstaying its welcome. The classic Matroidvania-inspired Zelda-like progression (alternating between unlocking new items and new areas) is done perfectly, with just the right amount of backtracking - enough to keep you wanting to explore more and feeling there're many things to do, but not to a point that's overwhelming and impossible to keep track of. The pixel art is amazing. The dungeons and boss fights are challenging and satisfying. My only personal criticism is that I wish there were more logic-based puzzles. Most of the challenges in the game lean heavily towards skill-based challenges (timing and execution). There were only a handful of puzzles where the solution itself was somewhat hard to figure out. I believe it would've been a better balance if there were more cognitive challenges in the mix. From a Hololive fan's perspective (especially a CC-oshi), this game is near perfect. There are so many references and funny moments. The humour is great. Actions and dialogues for most featured holomems feel natural (within the context of the game). There are only a handful a moments where I felt "hmm, this doesn't sound too much like them," but could be brushed off because of the in-game curse. I also wish Kronii was included, so that all current EN members could be there.
I don't really follow Hololive but the game was still enjoyable. Despite not knowing the characters initially, the story and characters kept the game entertaining and pushed me to continue to see the next part in the story. The puzzles are pretty fun to solve and the gameplay feels nice with the controls being pretty intuitive. Would recommend even if you don't follow Hololive.
Very fun and charming game and at a very reasonable price. Difficulty balance on the combat feels good for the majority of the game (I think a couple of the final fights are a tad easy, but otherwise good). Puzzle difficulty feels good for most of the game (the early game clone puzzles are a little awkward to navigate, but not too bad with a little bit of patience). The items feel like they fit well with the members and largely feel very much like Zelda items. I liked how I could pick up some items and immediately recognize what item it's based on ("Oh sweet, it's a hookshot" or "Oh sweet, the Pegasus Boots"). I also very much enjoyed the classic Zelda feel of exploring the world to find all the upgrades and extra items for 100%. There was a good number of things to find without it feeling completely overwhelming to hunt everything down (No 900 Korok seeds, thank God). Very much recommend to anyone who enjoys classic Zelda games. I personally played on hard and enjoyed the challenge, but I definitely advise following the recommendation of playing on normal for anyone who isn't abundantly experienced with this type of gameplay.
It's a good game, clearly made with passion and effort. If you like LoZ type games and like hololive En, then this game is probably for you. I played on Hard Mode, and the game does have some weird difficulty scaling, but for the most part, each bosses, enemies, and area were very well designed. Only thing I'd personality would have prefered is if the enemies / mobs, had more of an incentive to them. Since they're not exactly required to kill, since their drop pool seems to be the same as a bush. But this is just a personal preference. I do think it's more relaxing to not have to kill the mobs, and only clear them in certain areas when I need them gone in the room to make the puzzles easier. Either way, great game overall, and challenging.
A fun Zelda-inspired Hololive game. There's a moment or two where full exploration of abilities may be needed to progress, but the abilities and rewards are always fun additions
I think this a great fan game, I will look at the fan and game part of the game separately. About the fan part, I think is very good, you get many different holo talents and mascots with plenty of interactions an dialogs that I found funny/cute. The world is also themed very nicely. There is not much more to say is good I liked it. About the game part, the game has a surprising amount of content, plenty of big dungeons (around 8 maybe more) and while exploring the overworld you have also many mini dungeons that contain upgrades after a shorter challenge . The game offers some challenge mainly in the form of platforming challenges using the different items you get through the game, I found the platforming the most engaging part of the game gameplay wise, can be a bit tricky/frustrating at times but I like that kind of gameplay. In the combat department bosses are ok, maybe the weakest part of the game is the combat against random enemies (the fans). The game is paced pretty nicely and keeps you moving giving you some time to explore between dungeons without overwhelming you. Overall I had a good time with the game, I think is worth it for the price.
good alttplike, good holo references
